Beyond Good and Evil

There is a thing confusedly formed

Born before heaven and earth

Silent and void.

It stands alone and does not change

Goes round and does not weary

It is capable of being the mother of the earth

But I know not it's name.

Does it exist within a heart of stone?

Did I see it when I saw all things?

Was that when I forgot it all.

With tranquility the small goes

And the great comes

I see the world in a grain of sand

It whispers still.

Children of the profane

Pray for the insane

Sanity is for the cursed

For they know of pain.

I still wonder what it means

Is it bliss I was looking for?

To taste forbidden fruit once more

To open the gates of paradise.

Something awaits

Beyond good and evil

I know not what it is

Perhaps it was the truth I was seeking all along.
