Fading Memories

I'm here did you know?

Here inside your mind

Whispering subtle things in your ear

Sewing emotions through your head.

I know of your pain and suffering

I've been right there with you

Through and through

Always observing, always watching.

I've gone through your memories

Read you like an open book

I remember the early days

When there was still some hope left with you.

I can see you were hated

You were squandered

I know of the blows that broke you

The words that pained you.

I've seen you stay strong

You've pushed yourself

Day after day

Hoping the next will be any different.

I know that you stay strong around others

Wanting them to think your alright

But I know that in the shadows of the world

You cry yourself to sleep every night.

You never let what they did to you show

You're stronger than you know

But the more you keep bottling all this up

The more your heart aches.

The people beside you couldn't take it

Your parents berate and beget you for it

You know others are standing with you

But they seem so far apart regardless.

I know of your scars

Across your chest

Cutting deep into your heart

To see if you are still human.

Ruby tears eclipse the skin

Soaking up your regrets

You wish you could forget

But some things are too painful to forget.

You want to tell the people you care about

Anything and everything

But you still think they will judge you
