Jacob's tone of voice sent a shiver down your spine. Unlike anything, you've heard before. It surpassed even John's and Joseph's Alpha voices. It made you feel wanted more than usual for the Seeds. You didn't feel like everything was on your shoulders for once. Like it was all going to collapse around you. It was peaceful as you drove up the Whitetail Mountains. Neither of you said a word as you watched the pastures of Holland Valley turn into tall pines and nestled wooden cabins.
You've never seen Jacob's compound before. Your brothers made it out to be a horrible place. Savage Judges ran wild as they tried to eat everything from resistance prisoners to Project at Eden's Gate Members. Most of the time you didn't believe them. Lexi didn't seem like that kind of animal. She was never aggressive towards you. Maybe it was the fact she was older or maybe she was far smarter than you gave her credit. She treated you so gently as a pup. Protecting you as if you were her own. It made you miss her more, even if she was a wolf. She felt like an actual person with genuine emotions. To you, she wasn't just a pet.
Before you knew it, the gates of the St. Francis Veterans Center loomed over the hood of the Black Jeep. The building looked like it was about to fall apart. The once white building turned a brownish-yellow and thick vines covered most of the walls. The yard was full of rusted cages and prisoners. You drove by people that looked like they haven't eaten in days. You could feel that weight come back onto your shoulders.
It's hard to comprehend all the Project has done. The lies from before are slowly coming full circle. The bodies on the side of the road, forcing people for the sake of saving them. You were all a part of some big scheme. The problem was you wanted to get out, but you got too attached. If you left, you wouldn't just hurt your mates, John and Joseph, but also yourself. Omegas become extremely depressed and anxious when away from their Alphas. It was the attachment. Something no other dynamic had. If the extreme emotions didn't kill you, the unknotted heats would.
"Alright, get out." Jacob didn't even look at you as he turned off the Jeep and jumped out of the car. You could only just watch as he walked over to a random guard and looked back at you in the car and then he walked off. The guard got closer to the Jeep, and the face was no longer a blur. To your surprise, it was Zachariah. He gingerly walked up to the passenger's door and opened it. His Alpha scent instantly flooded your senses and made Jacob's scent a fond memory. The pounding headache only added to the sick feeling at the very pit of your stomach..
"(Y/N)!" He sounded very excited as he practically pulled you from your seat. You barely had the time to process what was happening before he dragged you inside the building. The inside was just as bad as the outside. To your enhanced sense of smell, it stank of mold. It was musky, and the air was thick. The lobby was full of beds, mostly comprising of dirty hospital beds and poorly made bunks. They were sectioned off as if to make individual rooms.
They barely had any personal items. Except for a few photos. One had a photo of pups with their mother. It almost made you want to run. It was hard to comprehend how they would die for the Project at Eden's Gate. Especially for people like John or Jacob. But worst of all the Father. Maybe it was the fact you've grown up in this environment, but somewhere deep down, you would die for them. It sounded sick to you but it felt right. This was your purpose and your family would never accept you if you left.
Your entire life was this now. An Omega with a purpose. Not just one Alpha but 2 and soon 3 if Jacob accepted you. But that wasn't looking well for you at the moment. The Omega on the inside was crying out for him. You wanted him to call you Kitten again. You wanted Jacob to claim you like the wolf he was.
You blushed just the slightest bit as you continued to follow your brother away from your lobby and up the stairs to the top floor.
"I didn't think you would ever be here. My baby sister shouldn't be in a place like this. This is no place for an Omega." Zachariah sounded regretful as he walked with you. You couldn't see his eyes but his scent changed from one of excitement to fear.
