_____________"𝕊𝕆ℝℝ𝕐," I shoved people out of my way as I raced through the streets.
It was now dark and the streets were far less packed than during the day; however, it was early enough that there were people slowing me down. Thankfully, this was not an area like downtown or any other part of the city that tended to be busy at night.
Mostly because this area, in particular, was known for its high level of "mutant activity". That word sent a thrill down my spine as I now knew just how very true it is. My shoes slapped the ground harshly and everything seemed to go by in blur.
"Sorry, lady!" I gave zero shits as I pushed a lady holding a baby out of the way, the woman screaming before being caught by her husband.
I swear I saw him raise a threatening fist to me before I disappeared in the vast crowd. The only thought on my mind was how far away I was from home. I could decide what to do once I got to the safety of my apartment.
I was nearly home free, the familiar tall building was practically in the palm of my hand. Unfortunately, it seemed today was God's day to strike me down.
In seconds, a green (hand was not the right term) humanoid paw-hand-thingy, shot from the alley I was passing and snaked around my waist. I heaved, the wind knocked from my lungs in a comedic manner before I was forced into the alley.
A cry escaped me as I was tossed onto the dirty ground, a large figure looming over me. His eyes were white and there was a sword drawn to my body.
...It was Lameonardo.
"Calm down! Look, I just want to talk with you—!" I did not allow him to finish his sentence for my eyes alit with fiery determination.
Following instincts that came from who the hell knows where, I released a battle cry as my foot jerked out and knocked the sword straight from his hands. He grunted and the sword went flying with so much power it became embedded into the wall... a brick wall.
My mouth was agape and so was Leonardo's. In fact, the blue bandana-wearing turtle held a single-digit up, his eyes and mouth wider than the gates of hell.
Okay, so like seriously what the fuck is happening...?
"What? How in the—?"
I gave him no time to reply, knocking away my own surprise and once again following my instincts. Hopping to my feet, I immediately crouched, hands held up in defense.
Lameoardo took on a face of more surprise before he got defensive and crouched as well.
I rose a brow as he tossed his other katana to the side, the turtle elaborating his decision as we circled each other.
