A/N: I know, I know. I'm late. First semester of college is wrapping up this week, so I'll have a solid month break, and I hope to write more during it. I'm going to speed up the filler chapters. They are fun, but not the reason I started this fic.

The Wolf Of All Streets

"You know what you're doing, right?" Natasha's voice was stiff as she spoke through her teeth, bending down to his ear as they walked. Filled to the brim with stoicism, and even a little concern, though whether it was for him or her job if he failed, he couldn't tell. At the very least, she knew Japanese and he didn't need an interpreter to converse with her, which was refreshing.

"Does it look like I know what I'm doing?" He half whispered back.

"No." She stated bluntly. No doubt their escort in front of them could hear everything they were saying.

"...then...no." They turned a corner. He could see the door at the end of the hall, behind which was undoubtedly a cruel and unjust leader that planned to do everything they could to take advantage of him.

...phrasing...

"I was told you were a professional." She kept her eyes forward, already prepared to introduce herself.

"What tipped ya off?" He could taste the sarcasm that dripped from his own voice.

"A munchkin."

"Oi. I am...a hard worker. I do my best. Unfortunately, it seems as though those whose responsibility it was to see me properly prepared have forgotten their role."

"Don't point fin-". Their escort had opened the door whilst they were talking, and was now staring at them intently to enter the room. He fought down a smirk as a light dusting of pink came over Natasha's cheeks, showing her embarrassment.

No pressure...

"You seem surprised."

Ichika was sitting on a couch that was much more comfortable than it had looked. A few pictures of scenery dotted the walls. Behind a desk to his right was a pair of tall windows that helped to light the room. Directly in front of him was a coffee table, behind which was placed an identical couch. On the couch sat a woman in her mid thirties; Caucasian, thin, and quite tall for a woman, about 180cm (~6 foot) by his estimate, who was dressed very professionally but seemed to be kind enough.

To each side of the couch the woman sat, where two female guards, clearly ready to activate their IS units should a situation arise.

Identically, two of his guards stood on the ends of his couch.

A translator stood a ways away, in clear view of both of them. Ichika regretted that he needed a translator, but it was unavoidable.

"Yes. I must admit, I expected those I would be negotiating with to be much more.... by the book. Of the two of us, I would have expected you to be surprised, given the circumstances. Especially my youth." He said, while trying to sound as educated as possible while avoiding sounding pompous.
