Promise me

Today is the day rahul is coming! I don't know why I'm so excited but I am!

"Good morning"

"Oh hi Murat."

"What are you doing?"

"Oh I'm just working on the preparations for the wedding you know?"

"Yes I do know. Anyways I'm gonna come home late?"

"Kya? Kyu?"

"I have uhh.. Important work to do so I have to stay at the office. Bye"

He placed a soft kiss on my lips and left. I heard a knock on the door. I checked my watch and it was 9:00 am. That must be Rahul. I saw Murat heading towards the door. I quickly fixed my hair and reached the door before he opened it. I was so excited! I opened the door and there he was. Rahul. He had flowers on one hand and looked at me. I smiled like an idiot

"Hi meera"

I pulled him into a tight hug and never wanted to leave his arms. I was so happy I was so close to crying! I couldn't believe he was here. I broke the hug and looked at him. He had grown a bear and was taller than he used to be, he had some glasses but he was giving me an intense look with a small smile on his face, his hair was slick back and he looked good as always, I mean not like I like him or anything but- I mean. I- all my feelings came rushing up. The things I used to feel came back to me causing me to shiver. This was a bad idea! I'm getting married and I can't start liking him

"Come in!"

He walked in and I moved aside.

"Baby you didn't tell me we were gonna have a guest..."

I totally forgot about Murat but right now I'm just praying that nothing happens between him and Rahul. He pulled me by the waist and gave me a kiss. He was acting weird today but I didn't think much of it.

"Hi Murat long time no seen."

"Right."

They shook hands and well I guess things are starting to go better but Rahul had a weird and disgusted look on his face. Murat had an angry face and that's when I knew, I was a dead duck.

"So Your the one Meera got engaged to."

"Of course I am! She hasn't mentioned it?"

"Uh nope. She hasn't mentioned it."

It was very awkward we were all just sitting on the couch and I didn't know what to say. I thought I mentioned on the phone that I was engaged to Murat. Or did I forget? But how can I forget something so important?

"Well I guess it just slipped out of my head but uhh yeah Murat is my fiancee."

Rahuls face dropped and I kind of felt bad but it's good that I'm getting married to the guy I love. Right?

We were all just sitting down until the doorbell rang.

"I'll go get it!"

I tried to get up and leave so that it won't be weird but Murat got my hand.

"Don't worry my love I would get it."

He got up and gave me a serious face. Why was he mad? Is it because of Rahul? I looked back at Rahul and flashing his dimples he threw me a smile, I couldn't resist his cute dimples so I giggled.

"Umm hi is this Meera Dev Maliks house?"

"Yes it is do you need anything?"

I was able to hear someone talking and they asked for me. I got up and headed towards the door. There was a beautiful women with brown silky hair flowing, her lips were a bright matte red and green eyes. She was gorgeous.

"Umm your asking for me?"

"Oh are you Meera?"

"Haan"

Rahul came and headed toward that woman.

"You made it."

He kissed her forehead and she smiled

"Umm Rahul? Do you know her?"

"Oh god where are my manners."

He hold her by the waist and pulled her to him.She put her hand out and wanted to greet me

"Hello Im Alizeh, Alizeh sharma. Rahuls girlfriend."

"G-girlfriend?"

"Haan."

Wow rahul got a girlfriend! I'm so happy for him. I hope that he loves her as much as I love Murat.

"Oh well uh nice to meet you. Oh gosh where are my manners? I'm Meera. Meera D-."

"Meera Dev Malik. Yeah I know Rahul used to always talk about you."

She giggled and hung on Rahuls arm.

"Oh well uh rahul why don't I show you your room? Follow me."

I led him upstairs to the guests room and I had prepared it for him. Dark curtains and a huge bed. And of course a piano since he loves to play it.

"Wow this is such a nice room."

"I know right?"

We both looked at each other and laughed.

"Um you should bring your stuff and put it in the closet."

"Ok thank you."

I was about to leave but turned around.

"Hey Rahul?"

"Haan?"

I walked towards him and gave him a big hug.

"I missed you, a lot."

"I missed you a lot more meera."

"Promise me you wouldn't leave me ever again Rahul."

"I promise you."

In that moment the arms squeezed a fraction tighter and I breathed more slowly, his body melting into mine as every muscle lost its tension to the spring air. This was what I wanted. Feeling safe once again in Rahuls arms
