Blinding daylight, along with the chirp of a bird, awoke you from your slumber, as well as Penny beginning  to stir. Stretching, you sat up, yawning. "Ah..morning, Penny." You mumbled tiredly, finally opening your eyes, only to be greeted by an unfamiliar male watching you. The two of you locked eyes, and you stayed silent as he grinned softly. "It's not every day I come across some random person sleeping in the middle of nowhere. I just arrived, so I wasn't watching you sleep or anythin--"

The male was cut off as you drew your gun, spinning it with a sense of grace, before pointing it straight at his forehead. "Listen, if your here to rob me, I wouldn't suggest it. I'm not afraid to take a few lives to ensure my safety." You spoke swiftly. The male then began to laugh, causing your face to redden. "Hey! You shouldn't laugh when you're about to die!" You stated. The male waved his hands in the air. "Relax, darling. I was just on my way to pay for the Steel Ball Run. No worries. I'm not going to rob you." He defended himself, making you lower your gun. "The..Steel Ball..oh, fuck! Say, do you by any chance know the rest of the way?" You asked quickly. The male paused, then nodded. "I can lead you there, if you'd like..though I think you would have to repay me by giving me something." He stated. You paused. "..What?" You got defensive again. "..I'd like your name." He stated with a small smile.

"..Y/N L/N."

He paused, and you continued on. "Before you ask, yes, I am related to Jean L/N. Yes, that Jean L/N." You sighed. "Ah, alright. Nice to see that the L/N bloodline continues to race. Well, follow me, L/N." He then began to head off, causing you to quickly climb on Penny Lane and follow him. "Hold it, cowboy." You shouted, causing him to slow down slightly. "What's your name?" You asked. He paused. "Oh, I guess it's fair that I give you mine." He said apologetically, before tipping his hat.

"You can just call me Mountain Tim. Now, let's get going before we're both late to the party."

Eventually, you and the racer you knew as Mountain Tim arrived, and you weren't surprised that so many racers had shown up. "So many racers..so many racers that are competition. So many racers that I can kick their asses." You whispered to yourself, before noticing that Mountain Tim had disappeared on you. "Oh, fuck, my guide." You mumbled, before deciding to begin to search on your own. You left Penny by the side, before beginning to look around, eventually noticing a crowd. "God damn it, of course there has to be a crowd. Hey, let me through!" You raised your voice. You noticed some dude in a wheelchair was having the same problem, so you made your way over, and harshly shoved two men out of the way. "God, you people have no respect! There's a dude in a wheelchair, asking to get through. Fuck you people!" You flipped the crowd off, before letting the dude in a wheelchair go past. "Finally, now I can get some pa- what?" You paused in your steps as you noticed that the guy in the wheelchair was wheeling himself towards another individual, who had two steel balls strapped to his belt--as well as some random dude bleeding on the ground.

You stared for a moment, before sighing. "Of course people have to get into a fight..so idiotic." You muttered, before feeling someone attempt to nudge past you. In an instant, you punched them in the face, causing them to fall backwards in the crowd. "Hey, watch it, or I'll shoot you in the head!" You snapped, before making your way over to the place to deposit money, ignoring the scene that was happening behind you. You slammed the money down, staring the short male on the other side down. "That's enough money. Now, I'm Y/N L/N. I'm going to participate in the St-"

"L/N? Like, Jean L/N?!" The male gasped. "Wow, the grandkid of Jean L/N is standing in front of me! This is such an amazing event!" He stated brightly. "Yea, don't get used to it. Just give me my number and let me be." You stated, annoyed. The male fell silent, before handing the number over. You took it. "Now, I'll be off." You stated, about to turn around. "Oh, good luck in the race, Jean L/N's grandchild!" The male said. "..Y/N L/N. My name is Y/N L/N." You snapped angrily. "I'm not going to be called Jean L/N the 2nd, because that isn't my name!" You declared, before turning around and noticing that the guy in the wheelchair  was now clinging onto the roof of the building. You stared at him for a moment. "How..HOW DID YOU GET UP THERE?! NONE OF THIS MAKES ANY SENSEEE!" You threw your hands up in the air, before deciding to help him down. He took a moment, looking at you as you set him down in his wheelchair. "..You..didn't need to help me." He stated. "Yea, if I didn't want to, I would've left you there, sherlock." You replied bluntly. He stared at you again, almost shocked, before rolling his eyes. "Thanks, I guess." He mumbled. "Hmm? Was that a thank you? I couldn't quite hear you." You commented triumphantly. The Male's face reddened. "Ugh..I said thank you!" He shouted. "That's more like it!" You cheered.

"So..you're Y/N..L/N, right?" He asked. "Yup, that's me." You told him. "My brother was a big fan of your grandfather." He stated. "My name's Johnny. Johnny Joestar, by the way." He then introduced himself quickly. "Well..if I took the Jo from your first name, and the Jo from your last..you'd be Jojo! Ha, I'm a genius!" You grinned, making the Joestar wonder how you went from a cocky individual to a..whatever he could call you. "Ah..you're not the first person to come up with that." He broke the bad news to you, making you pout. "Fuck. Thought I was creative. Well, Mr. Joestar, I better go get my horse. Make sure you don't end up on a roof again." You stated, before walking off, mumbling about roofs and Joestars.

Johnny watched you, before deciding to get himself back to his Horse. For he, Johnny Joestar, was going to participate in the race, and find out the secret behind the Steel Ball that had allowed his legs to..do some sort of mysterious movement. He wanted to walk again..and those steel balls had to give an answer.

You, on the other hand, just wanted to win the race and make a name for yourself. You didn't care about steel balls or anything. You just wanted to win and take the money. But alas, you'd soon meet the other person who would change your plans forever. The man with the steel balls himself...

Gyro Zeppeli.

Settling down in the tent, you looked upwards. "Night Penny. Night Grandpa's hat..soon..I'll make you all proud." You stated, before taking out a small photograph, of you, your aunt, and your grandfather. With a pause, you ripped away your aunt from the picture. "I am not a joke..soon..they will all see me as someone to not joke about!" You whispered, kissing the picture before laying down, one hand on your hat.

Y/N L/N then fell asleep.
