Burn Bright or Collapse Furiously (Ahri x OC)

Prologue

Four Years before the present

I was tired from the fighting and was outnumbered.

"Ahri! Xayah is dead!" I screamed in horror whilst looking around for Ahri.

The battle field was on a corrupted planet that we failed to protect. I was with Ahri, Xayah, Rakan, and Neeko. I was by myself with none of the others in sight, then I saw a body fall. I ran as fast as I could towards the body, I then saw familiar dark magenta bird-like ears. My eyes widened as I saw that her body was pierced with darkness and stardust was slowly evaporating.

Where the hell is Ahri, my mind said as large amounts of guilt and anger flow through my head as I witnessed Xayah die just a few meters in front of me. I swinged both my short swords at the remaining wave of corrupted creatures, green blood laid over the battlefield like snow. I kneeled over Xayah as she was struggling to breath. "NO NO NO!" I yelled as Xayah took her last breath. I slammed by fist into the ground as another wave of corrupt creatures ran towards me. Why Zoe, Why i thought.

I looked around and didn't see Neeko or Rakan anywhere. I prepared myself for a last stand off but just as i stood up, a portal appeared just twenty five meters in front of me. What the hell I thought but was interrupted by a scream. "Branden run to the portal!" a familiar voice said near the portal.

I can't leave them! But I'll die to the next wave The thought sent shivers through my body; I stood up and ran as fast as I could towards the portal. I quickly turned my head back, I was shocked to see the next wave of probably hundreds of void creatures charging towards me. Please make it, I thought as I was just a few meters from the portal. I flashed through the portal and looked behind to see it closing.

I stood up and immediately saw a female with fox-like ears; I quickly recognized that it was Ahri. I stood in front of her looking face to face. "WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU!" I shouted. "Branden please-" Ahri said with tears in her eyes as I interrupted her, "Xayah is dead and you closed the portal before Rakan and Neeko could escape! You're supposed to be a leader and help them escape too!" I shouted as I fell to my knees. "Our Team is dead!" I yelled as tears flowed down my cheeks like a waterfall. My Family... are... gone, i thought as i was looking down at my charm. My body and heart felt so heavy; I felt like an anchor to the ground. "Look-" Ahri started her sentence but i interrupted, "What's the point of being a Star Guardian when you can't even protect your colleagues nevertheless a planet." I said crying with my charm in my hand. I looked at my charm and made a decision.

After a few minutes of crying; I heard Ahri speak. "W-we couldn't help them... f-fate seemed to ha-" I interrupted "I fought my heart out for them and yet you couldn't do that; I never saw you in the fight! I saved Neeko and assisted Xayah as much as i could!" I exclaimed. I could tell that she felt regret and guilt after that comment. I stood up and threw my blue and orange charm at her, "I am no longer a Star Guardian!" She caught it and ran towards me as I turned into my cosmic form, my entire body had turned blue. "Please don't leave!" Ahri said in a sad tone with tears in her eyes. I stared at the sky, "You broke a promise and let the others die, I never want to see you ever in my life." I respond in a calm tone while preparing to fly to another planet.

"Please my love, I made a mistake and regret it, please don't go!" she exclaimed as she dashed towards me with my charm in her hand. "I don't love you no more, goodbye my old friend and traitor... i shall see you in the cells of darkness."

These were the last words that Branden said as he left to another planet searching for another destiny while leaving Ahri behind. Ahri wiped her tears and looked up to see a blue light leave a stardust trail like a comet. Both hearts were broken like shattered glass. This marked the beginning of a shattered destiny.
