Chapter 2: The Familiar Nine Tailed Fox

Branden had just turned around and was shocked to see a familiar woman. Her pink fox-like eyes locked onto his blue eyes. Only Ahri saw Branden's confused face expression. He suddenly felt many emotions flow in his head; he felt anger towards Ahri. His anger was mixed with sympathy; this caused him to start having memories flow through his head. Ahri has always been able to naturally charm people; Branden was no exception. Ahri's charm caused more emotional pain for Branden.

Ahri's POV

I walked to school to meet up with Ruby, I can't believe Ruby woke up so early. How can anyone be a morning person? I thought as I walked to school. It wasn't really far so the walk didn't bother me. I made sure my tail was hidden and thought, I hope my ears don't freak people out. I arrived at the school parking lot and saw Ruby with a group inside near the entrance. She must be popular huh, I need that spotlight too, I thought as I opened the door to the school. I saw Ruby and her group; I walked towards them while preparing my first impression.

I noticed two people leaving and everyone looking the opposite way I was. "Hey Ruby, i'm guessing this is your group?" i said as i approached the group with curiosity. Ruby turned to me and was happy to see that I arrived. She hugged me and I hugged her back. After a few seconds, she released me. I see that the group looked at me and in the group I saw a guy about an inch taller than me, wore a white and blue hoodie with gold laces, had blue eyes, and I immediately recognized him. OMG! Branden!? I thought as my ears perked up with shock.

We stared at each other for a few seconds, I looked into his starry blue eyes. I noticed that he wore the same colors as his guardian outfit. He looks amazing when he wears white and blue, I thought while biting my lower lip. Ruby then looked at Branden and pointed towards me "Branden meet Ahri, we met a few days ago and is the new student." I wanted to tease him so I asked him in a seductive voice "Do i know you?" He responded in a neutral tone "Do i remind you of someone you used to know?" I just stared at him with a blank stare; I was trying to process his response.

I was shocked and sad that Branden shot me down immediately; I didn't expect him to be mean towards me. I felt my ears twitch and droop; I felt sadness enter my body. I have always been charismatic but that comment made me lose all confidence. As i was processing his comment i thought, Why was he so mean? I guess four years isn't enough time to forgive someone... maybe he never will forgive me after that battle...

While Ruby was introducing me to everyone; I felt a magical presence from the group, I quickly recognized that three members of the group were Star Guardians! I looked to see a tall green haired girl named Soraka, a girl the same height as me, orange hair, and was named Miss Fortune, and lastly a purple haired girl named Syndra. I never felt any magic from Branden, He hasn't used his magic for so long, I need to get along with those three girls, I cannot let these guardians fall into darkness like my old team, I quickly thought.

After meeting most of the group I looked at my schedule: Yearbook, Math, Dance, Astronomy, Speech, and Physical Education. "Lets go to our lockers and get to class, we got five minutes!" Travis said in a worried tone. "I will see you all at lunch!" Branden exclaimed as he walked down the hall. I remembered my locker number and combination on schedule. I walked to my locker and noticed that my locker was next to his! I had to talk to him, I thought as I was twisting the combination lock. I managed to fill my locker with supplies and just as he turned to leave, I stuck my hand out and held onto his locker door. I wanted to say something to him but he looked at me with anger; his face expression sent shivers down my spine. I stood frozen like a statue; I was scared of what would happen next. I snapped back to reality when he slammed the door and walked away.

Branden's POV

I'm not being nice to her, she deserved it, I thought as i walked to yearbook class. I chose this class because my friends convinced me into it. The class was easy and I always had a lot of fun; this all changed when I noticed that Ahri was in this class too! Why is Ahri here? And how did she find me? I threw my charm at her all those years ago, I thought as I went towards the back of the classroom and sat down. I had too many thoughts in my head.
