THE RAYS OF SUNSHINE coming through the round windows lightened the Hufflepuff dorm room just enough. The warm air was killing Ara when she packed her trunk, and she wasn't in the best mood anyway.

It was the day Ara dreaded.
Today was the last day of her sixth year at Hogwarts and now she had to take the train back to London, where her parents will be waiting for her and her brother Regulus.

She would be spending the whole summer break, meaning two months, wasting away her time at Grimmauld Place instead of enjoying herself with Alice and Frank. Well, that was what she thought she would be doing until the conversation she had with Remus back in May.

"I'm sure, that if you and your brother decide to get away from your parents too, they will welcome you warmly and you'll find a safe place with them."

It was constantly in her mind, would the Potters really do what Remus had told her ?

When Sirius ran away, Ara and Regulus were heartbroken. It was hard for both of them, they had to pick up each other's pieces and build one another up again. The hurt first turned into anger and then into numbness and faded away once they saw how happy their brother was with his new family.
But jealousy was never spoken of, because they never were jealous. Regulus and Ara both knew they could have had this too if they were just as brave as him, but they weren't. Or maybe just not yet.

Lately, Ara tried to talk to Regulus but never with success. The Hufflepuff was only seeing him walking down the corridors with his Slytherin acquaintances, including Charles Nott, and she wanted to stay away from him as far as possible.
It's not that he is a bad person, but Ara just got uncomfortable when being around him or even just thinking about him. He reminded her of the expectations of her parents and the freedom she will never have once married to him. The arranged marriage would bind her to Charles and to her pureblood maniac parents.

Regulus was in all ways trying to ignore Ara, not in a mean way, quite the opposite. He wanted to protect her as far as he could.
Ara was not the only black that was fearing going back to Grimmauld Place again. Regulus would never admit it, but deep down he knew his body was full of fear and anxiety. His siblings were having trouble with mental illnesses too, it is as if it's in their blood. They had their unhealthy coping mechanisms, but they all had one thing in common: drinking and anger.
