"You're busy? I can call you later if you want." Namjoon apologized as soon as she appeared on the screen with a post-it note stuck on her forehead.

"No. It's alright. I just got so emersed in the pile of projects and assignments and fell asleep that calling you completely slipped my mind."

No it didn't. Her thoughts betrayed her words.

"Anyway, when is your deadline? Are you still procrastinating till the last minute?" He asked trying to see what was her academic status. He liked checking up on her.

"Of course I procrastinated till the last minute that's why I'm here rushing to finish up with this pile." She said pointing at the literal pile of folders behind her back.

He gasped dramatically, "Oh no!"

She chuckled at his behaviour. "Oh yes! I woke up before the sun and had to find out the statistical indices for my project. AND now I'm finishing up with my assignment that would normally need 2 months but I'll be done in the next hour."

"Oh my other half sure knows about time management." He laughed softly as she cracked a smile.

There he goes again with this soulmate thing.

He can feel a weight settle in his heart despite seeing her smile through the screen.

Since their time back from the void, he's been subconsciously feeling that something terrible is going to happen.

He wished that their bond would've strengthened but it felt like their connection kept slipping away from his hold like sand.

"You'd tell me if you feel down right?" He asked timidly trying to memorize her every feature.

She smiled the smile that made his heart ache, "Of course! I'm a survivor. I won't make you suffer again."

Another pang in his heart as he felt a foreboding feeling crawling up his soul.

"Promise?" His voice subconsciously cracked.

She avoided looking at the screen, "Promise. Now I gotta go. I'll message you later. You can call when you're free."
