I stare at the ground below. "We're getting close." I turn to Cody.
He gives me a tense nod.
Carson stands at my side, and Mark is behind me. I had to have him replace Corvin. At the thought of that bastard, I clench my hands into fists. I trusted him. And, he was so quick to hurt my husband and try to kill my baby. "Bastard," I hiss.
I stare at the growing mass of armed men as we approach the White House. She's here. More of my men are off in other parts of this country. They'll take care of things there. But, she's mine.
"Let's go." I jump out of the plane, keeping a steady gaze on the ground as I fall. I land with a powerful thud, shaking the ground a little. Mark, Cody, and Carson land beside me. Thousands of RK900s follow suit.
I close my eyes for a second, drawing into myself. I can feel my entire body buzzing from the anticipation of the battle ahead. But, this is happening. My eyes snap open.
This world is mine.
Metal bars rise out of my back. My Daybreakers settle behind me, awaiting my orders. The largest one takes me in his hand, which is being controlled by me.
"Surrender, and no one gets hurt!" one of those humans shouts.
"Don't say anything," I murmur. My command quickly spreads to the entire army, and they stay silent. Whoever that is, I'll kill him first.
I twitch my scythes in turn, testing them. They're perfect, just as they should be. This is perfect. My plan is perfect. There is nothing that can go wrong.
I jump off of his hand, spiraling down onto the ground before blasting forward. A loud battle cry rumbles from the army behind me as they burst forward, too. As soon as I'm in range, I bring one of my scythes forward, slicing through the bodies of several humans.
A grin spreads across my face. I've dreamed of this day for years. Now is the time.
I glance to the side to see Cody fall to the ground, and Mark helps him up. They stare at each other before getting up and fighting again.
I easily mow down every human in my path. Humans. They're squishy. Nothing but soft flesh and muscle. Even their bones are nothing but soft sticks, easily breakable, and easy to cut through. I grab one of them by the throat before crushing it it my hand. In all honesty, I just want to watch them all die. Killing humans is the purest form of entertainment for me. Not even Cassius can satisfy me as much as killing these bags of meat does. I hate them all.
I look up at the White House. It's not very white anymore. Blood drips into my eye. I reach up to wipe it away, and my hand comes back red. I smile to myself.
Good.
"C-Cody!"
I glance over to see Mark struggling to get a human off of him. Cody runs over to help him, murdering the humans in his path to get to Mark. I don't know how this strange friendship has bloomed, but I don't have time to think about it.
Don't think about it.
Don't think about anything.
Just, kill. Kill them all.
I turn to the humans that have been shooting me for a while. I had hoped that they would figure out that their bullets can't hurt me, and it's useless wasting them on me, but I clearly overestimated the intelligence of humans.
I step forward. I'm not in a rush to kill them. I could be here all day killing humans, and I'd never get tired of it. Fuck them. Fuck them all. It takes little to no effort to murder every last one of them.
"Creed!"
I glance behind me. Mark beckons me forward. Carson and Cody group up with him. Carson is dripping with red blood. Cody and Mark look a little cleaner because they use guns. Me and Carson are more physical. Carson was probably choking them to death. He likes to watch people die in his hands, and he likes to feel the blood in between his fingers. It drives him wild. Don't ask how I know that.
I look to the Not-So-White House, and I know what I need to do. I burst forward, leaving them in my dust. I know for a fact that Mark is just as fast as me, but he chooses to match his pace to Cody's. Weird.
I burst through the door in one try. There are humans in here. God, I love killing humans. There's no better feeling in the world than murdering a human. I hurry through the house, staring to and fro in the rooms. I don't have the layout down to a science, but I have a general idea of where she is.
I burst into the Oval Office. There she is, in all of her sick, twisted glory. I've waited for this day. I've bled for this day. I've lost sleep over this moment. I purse my lips.
"You," she begins. Christina Warren. Oh, how I've waited to find and kill her. "What do you want?"
"What I want is simple: to kill you." I step forward, shaking the blood from my hands. "You have made me most displeased when you ordered the assassination of Elijah Kamski."
"What...? That wasn't me..." Her voice shakes.
I stop in my tracks. "What...?"
She shakes her head. "It wasn't me. I never ordered an assassination on him." The fear on her face and the way she holds herself tells me she's not lying.
No. It's not possible. This is not happening.
"No! It was you!"
"Creed," Carson whispers. He places his hand on my shoulder. "It was me."
My eyes widen. My three pumps beat in the same breakneck pace. "Why...?" I turn my head slowly, fixing my surprised gaze on him.
"I was angry at him for forcing us to be emotionless, miserable machines. I can't love people, but I can love feelings, and I loved the anger that came from knowing he was the one that made me this way. He forced us to be like this. And... I was mad, so I killed him." He shrugs.
"No. It wasn't you. It couldn't have been you." I turn to Mark. "You saw it happen! You said it was them! You told me that you heard him talking to the president herself. And, I trusted you!"
"He said that he'd kill me and you if I didn't tell you that it was her." Mark draws into himself. "I'm sorry! I was trying to protect you!"
I can't be mad at Mark. He was scared and confused. He only wanted to keep me safe. He had to lie to me. I can't be mad at him for doing what he was told to do, especially if disobedience meant both of our deaths. And, I was very much vulnerable back then. I close my eyes. "So... All this planning was for nothing."
"No!" Mark insists.
I pin Carson against the wall with my metal tendrils before killing the president. Red blood sprays everywhere, splashing me with the warm liquid. I love the feeling of human blood. It's thicker than blue blood. I stare down at her body before letting Carson go. What is even happening?
"I-I trusted you. I trusted you, Carson. It was you all along." I refuse to meet his gaze.
"I didn't know about you before I came to kill him. I'm sorry, Creed. I really liked you. What will you do now?" He's passive. He doesn't even care.
I narrow my eyes. He killed Elijah. "I came here to get revenge for his death, and I'm not leaving until I've done that." I direct my glare at him before lunging for him.
"Naw." He backs away. "I can do it for you." He raises a gun to his head and fires before I can stop him. He falls to the floor. I've never seen so much blood in one room.
I back away. This isn't at all the happy revenge I had hoped it would be. This isn't what I had in mind. "We need to go." I push Mark and Cody out of the room. The Terras will be firing soon. I run out of the house, running away from the dark secrets it hides.
The ground shakes as Terra-7 fires a powerful blast of light at the house. It explodes on impact, crumbling in on itself. Terra-7 and Terra-8 go off a few more times, destroying the White House. They destroy the surrounding buildings, too. Everything falls under the power of the Terra Tanks. I swallow hard. It's fine. The battle has been won already. I did what I came to do. Now, Terra-7 and Terra-8 will clean up for me.
I screw my eyes shut before leaping at Cody. "You! What have you done behind my back?! How have you betrayed me?!"
"I-I haven't! Creed, I haven't done anything wrong!" he whines. "I swear!"
"Dad! Get off him!" Mark pushes me, and I get off of him.
"Corvin and Carson have both fucking betrayed me, Mark. If Cody does the same... I'll kill myself." I cross my arms. I don't mean that. I'd never kill myself because of someone else.
He gives me a look. "Cody is loyal to you." He helps the Android up. "Right, Cody?"
He nods. "Yes! I haven't done anything wrong! You're my best friend, Creed! I would never betray you!"
I stare at his face. He's being genuine. But, I won't be so quick to trust him again. "I don't believe you've done anything wrong, but I believed that Corvin and Carson never did anything wrong. Look what happened. It will take a long time for me trust you again."
"I know. I can accept that reality. Just... Please, don't kill me." He shrinks away from me.
"I won't. I won't kill you."
"Creed!!"
I turn to the direction that my name is being called, but I don't see anything. Someone is already hugging me. I look down to see Cassius latched onto me.
"Creed! Creed, I-I was so scared!" He hugs me tightly.
I push him away. "Careful! You'll cave in your belly. It's already damaged. We need to be careful with it." The ground shakes as the Terra Tanks go off. I hold him close. "What're you doing here?"
He points at Danger Warning.
I roll my eyes. Of course. "You shouldn't have come here. It's dangerous." I snap my fingers twice. The largest Daybreaker is at my side. I make him hold Cassius, protecting him at all costs. The battle has already been won, but I'm not risking any stray bullets hitting my precious husband.
I wipe the blood from my face.
"You should make the announcement," Cody murmurs.
"Yes. I should." I glance up. Just as I knew there would be, there's a news anchor in a helicopter. I gesture to the helicopter, and Danger Warning grabs it out of the sky. They bring me the camera and the microphone. In my bloodied and battered state, I smile. "Good day, citizens of America. I must inform you that your president is dead." The camera focuses on the destruction in the background. "Everything is destroyed. Watch! The world you know will suffer now!" I grin like a madman. "No need to worry, though. You have me to take care of this wonderful country. If you'd like to challenge me, you can. Just expect to be obliterated by a blast of light. Expect to be a pile of ash like this here building. This is no longer a democracy; this is a monarchy. You have no say in what happens. Not a single one of you has any rights. I assume that you're being herded out of your homes and into one of my designated separation zones right now. Regardless, word of my takeover will spread. Listen to the RK that's controlling you. They've been ordered to kill everyone that fights back. If you value your life, you'll listen to what we have to say. I hope you all have the best day that you could possibly have on this rather grim day. More details shall be disclosed soon. Hang in there. You'll end up right where you need to be." I grab the camera and crush it in my hand, letting my smile fall. "Great. Let's get the fuck out of here. Clear up the rubble. You know what to do." I walk away, grinning to myself.
Carson, Corvin, and Mrs. Warren herself were not planned. But, it's fine. I have my husband and my son. I don't need anyone else.
I stare up at the sky. This country is mine. It's all mine. I've got hundreds of thousands of RK900s under my command. I can't lose.
All according to plan.
"Kill them!" I roar. "Kill them all!" Laughter bubbles up from the pit of my stomach. This world is truly mine.
