"Thank you for being my friend."

Third Person POV

Two months had passed by and Sukuna and (y/n) have been stuck on a routine for the past several weeks. Everyday consisted of jujutsu training, (y/n) offering the poor male some of the food she made, the two getting real food from shops, maybe some bickering and Sukuna teasing the young royal for about anything.

Spoiler, it was mostly Sukuna teasing (y/n) for a whole day and her arguing back, and it was rinse and repeat.

"You need more sugar on that. It tastes bland," Sukuna stuck his tongue out in distaste at (y/n)'s attempt of a dango.

"Huahhh I tried," the girl fake cried as she continued to eat her flavorless creation.

It was fairly silent as the two continued to consume the remaining dango. They sat in their usual spot on the hill, watching the bustling town below them.

"Suki, are those kids alright?"

The male shifted his attention to what the (y/h) girl was pointing at and found three little kids huddling close to each other at a more desolate part of town. Two of which seemed frightened and the other trying to comfort the both of them through a hug. From their view on the hilltop, the three kids have isolated themselves from the main roads of Kokufu and seemingly looked lost.

"They're probably fine," Sukuna shrugged and continued to eat but the (h/c)-nette stood up and began to walk towards their direction, "Oi-!"

Sukuna stood up and caught up with the concerned female who only fastened her pace, "Look, they're probably playing a game or something or whatever the hell kids do these days. Do you really have to check up on some snobby brats?"

(Y/n) paid no attention to whatever the pinkette was rambling about and soon neared the shivering children. They were facing down the end of the darkened alleyway between two houses as Sukuna and (y/n) approached them from behind. The three didn't notice the two's presence until (y/n) spoke up.

"Excuse me-?"

"AHHH!" They all screamed and backed away- one had toppled over their friend and the other stood in front of them as a 'shield'.

"Eh!?" (Y/n) immediately retracted her hand she used to tap one of them on their shoulder and panicked considering she frightened them even more.

"Please don't hurt my friends!" There was a girl with long, strawberry-pink hair covering the other two with her outstretched arms. She closed her eyes shut and looked away as if she was preparing to be hit by something.

The more (y/n) inspected them, the more she realized just how young these kids were. They were probably around 8-9 years old- two of which were boys and the other a girl.

(Y/n) slowly brought her hands up to show that she doesn't mean any harm as Sukuna crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. To be honest, Sukuna hated children- despised them even. He found them nothing but annoyingly weak, whiny babies that would cry over the smallest inconvenience and he couldn't handle it.

"Hey, hey, I won't hurt you guys," (Y/n) calmly murmured as the three looked over at each other before looking back at the (h/c)-nette. They lowered down their guard but their eyes still held caution, "Would you like to tell me what's wrong?"

"T-There's a monster over there," a boy with black, spiky hair tied in a low ponytail shakily pointed at the end of the alley.

"We got lost and ended up here... but no matter where we turn, we keep running into the monster," another boy with short, dark brown hair gripped tightly at the kimonos of his two friends.
