SKYLAR
I'm more than sure I was dead. I was pretty sure. But if I was dead... would I be walking perfectly fine with Nova at my side?
"Now I'm freaked out," Nova spoke up, looking around.
"There's nothing to look around for. It's just... whiteness everywhere."
I agreed with Nova when she said she was freaked out. Shit, so was I. My wound on my stomach was gone and I wasn't full of blood so I don't know what's going on. Nova stayed close by me as we continued to walk into nowhere.
All I could think about was the look on Lukas' face before my eyes shut. I feel like I betrayed him in somehow and... I broke him. Even though I chose to do that, I still feel like I just told a thousand lies and broke over a million promises.
I have no idea what everyone is doing right now but damn it. I feel like complete shit and the feeling isn't going away.
"Woah... Skylar look!"
I looked where Nova was pointing and my jaw dropped when a gorgeous woman floated down from above with a smile on her face. She had a long, black, gown like dress and a matching crown on her head with a crescent moon as a necklace.
Nova had to punch my shoulder to knock me out of my trance but I couldn't help it. She was just so mesmerizing and hypnotizing. I couldn't stop looking at her.
"Hello, Skylar. It's great to see you in person, finally," the woman spoke up and her voice gave so much authority.
"I-I'm sorry but... who are you?"
"Apology isn't necessary. You haven't met me before so I know you'll be confused. I'm the Moon Goddess," she said with a smile. "But you can simply call me Athena."
"Holy- it's so amazing to finally meet you! Hi!" I blurted then quickly covered my mouth. "Sorry."
She chuckled lightly. "Don't be, it's okay."
"So... I'm dead, correct?" I asked, trying to swallow the lump in my throat.
"Yes, that is correct. Come on, walk with me."
She began to walk to who knows where and I didn't hesitate to follow her. It's like I was blinded by her power and it was just so... powerful.
"Is that the only word you can think of?" Nova asked, chuckling.
"Yep," I chuckled.
"Let's take a little trip down memory lane, shall we?" Athena spoke up, smiling at me.
Once she said that, multiple screens began forming against the white walls. The first screen made my eyes water when I saw it was me in a cell, crying my eyes out.
"You have no idea how much I hated seeing one of my children suffer," she said. "It broke my heart."
I wasn't able to speak. The old me was so pale and useless. I barely remember how I was then, all I know is that I had an amazing life once I got out of there. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
