after the incident with the noises, i refused to get anywhere near the book, so it lay on the ground, being watched by a group of three girls at somewhere around 2am. what could be more fun? we watched in silence for maybe 10 minutes before Nell walked back into the room with the other girls. Kaiylee left soon after
but i didn't move. I was basically glued to the spot on the floor. apparently at some point in my staring, I sat down and fell asleep because when I awoke, I was laying with the book open on my face, and nell right next to me. I removed the book from my face and sat up, shaking nell awake. I started to look around, not recognizing anything. "what the hell" nell questioned boosting herself up on her elbows. before anything else could go on, a shrill shrieking rang through the house and a young girl, no older than 6, whizzed by holding a boy's polo shirt, a shirt with the charlotte Catholic logo on it. "did we sleep walk somewhere maybe?" i asked nell. "but she didn't see us, it was like we aren't there or it's normal that we're here" as she finished her sentence, a shirtless boy went running by yelling at the girl whose name was Kelci. the boy couldn't have been older than maybe 14 or 15. on impulse I ran after them like I was being compelled towards him. Nell ran next to me. "Kelci I need my shirt!" the teenager yelled when he closed in on her, picking her up. "give it to me!" he grabbed at it. "you're gonna make me late and I can't be late on literally the first day of ninth grade!" his voice cracked. Kelci giggled and gave him his shirt which he slipped on quickly and ran right past us and back upstairs. "hey!" both nell and i screamed after watching the scene unfold. there was no answer.
