7:: The party and the long lost relatives

MIRAE'S POV:

"I wanna beat him up but he is my husband! I swear if it wasn't the fear of me becoming a widow I would have totally killed him by now!

Ok not really but I am still angry!! How can he just tell me to suddenly get ready because we have to leave for a party in an hour!

I had to take a bath too, you know!"

"Ok ok. Calm down Mrs. angry bird. It's ok!"

I made eye contact with Chaeyeon unnie through the mirror as she did my hair.

"Easy for you to say! It ain't your first time going to a party as a wife! Plus I am sure changbin oppa won't ever do something like Felix did!"

She giggled. "Yes because he knows I won't just give him empty threats."

"But you are so cute unnie! How can someone be intimidated by you!"

"You know I used to be the top agent of the Lee's right??"

I finally broke our eye contact through the mirror and turned around.

"As in Lee the Great mafia group of all time?? You were their agent?!"

Before replying to me, Chaeyeon unnie forcefully turned my face back in its original position and started doing my make up.

"Yes, Lee as in 'the Great mafia group of all time'. I actually worked for them for quite a while. Mr. Lee was practically my father. During the time I met Changbin, Seo's and Lee's didn't get along. And then the Seo's made stray kids.

You know I was actually send to kill Changbin but I fell in love and Mr. Lee declared peace. He had even walked me down the aisle himself."

I saw unnie smile. 'Maybe I should tell her' I thought. 'Maybe it's better to tell her now before she finds out through another source. But I must approach it carefully. Maybe I'll start the conversation by telling her that I have an uncle and then-' but even before my thoughts were completed, my mouth had already blurted out the truth.

"Mr. Lee is my uncle."

Silence......

'And that is why you should listen to your brain Mirae!!'

After a while, unnie gave me a simple 'oh' and went back to work on my eyes.

Everything fell into silence. But thank god unnie broke it before it got too awkward.

"So you remember him then??"

It took me a while to process her words but when I finally got what she meant, a smile crept it's way to my lips without my permission.

"Yeah I do. He must be so busy now. It's been ages since we met and I don't think he even remembers me"

"No, he does remember you. I am sure he'll be excited to meet you again." Unnie gave me her beautiful smile and I suddenly felt that everything would be ok.

"Now go and put on your shoes and accessories!"

Just as I was done getting ready, Nina entered the room.

"Mama Jim Jim asked me to tell you that they are waiting for you." She said arrogantly.

"Mama Jim Jim? Nina darling tell me something please? Why do you call all your aunts mama but me by my name??" I gave her a fake smile which she returned before saying.

"Because Mirae you don't seem like the mama type to me. I mean if you acted like your age maybe I would call you mama."

I petted her head. "I really hate you, you know?"
