I groaned and rubbed my head. Purple spots quickly swam across my vision. I felt dizzy and lightheaded. I struggled to sit up and glanced around. I was in a dark cave, illuminated only by a few redstone torches. My eyes slowly began to adjust, and soon the room was as bright as if I had night vision on.
I glanced around the cave and began to take in my surroundings. I was in a rather large room made out of stone bricks. The only exit was blocked off by iron bars. Through them I could barely make out a few mobs. A small underground spring of water ran a few blocks before disappearing into the earth again.
I heard a loud thud behind me and whirled around. The dragon stood behind me, wings outspread, filling nearly half of the cave. My armor was gone as well as my sword. I was completely defenseless. I backed away, eyes wide with fear.
The dragon churred softly.
"I'm not going to hurt you." It said quietly. I gasped and stumbled back.
"You...you can talk?" I asked, then stopped, noticing that my voice was much softer and slightly higher than usual. The dragon nodded, then continued.
"Many people have tried to slay me, but none have been worthy. That is, until now." The dragon looked me in the eyes. I met it's gaze, unable to pull away. The dragon's eyes that had been so full of hatred and violence, now showed an intelligent light, one I hadn't noticed before. I slowly willed myself to look away from the dragon.
I glanced down at the water, unsure of what to do. I let out an inhuman, ear piercing shriek when I saw my reflection. I was no longer human. My skin was black and my eyes were purple. My limbs were longer than they should've been and I was over a head taller than I was before.
I opened my mouth and what I saw shocked me even more. My jaw could unhinge and my mouth could widen to nearly a blocks size. Two sharp black fangs protruded from the top of my mouth. I stumbled back in surprise.
"Wha...what happened?" I asked shakily in a voice that wasn't even mine.
"I improved you." The dragon said proudly.
"Improved? IMPROVED?!?" I asked angrily. The dragon seemed shocked by my behavior.
"Yes, improved. You're stronger now and can teleport. You can see in the dark."
I shot the dragon a piercing glare and turned away.I was not human, and would never be again. What about my family? Would I ever see them again? Dread suddenly filled my mind. I whirled around.
"My sister! Where's my sister?!?" I screamed, my mind finally clearing up enough for me to think.
"Her? I sent her back home. I only needed you." The dragon said deviously. My heart raced. Adrenaline coursed through my body. I had had enough! I began to shake and purple flooded my vision. I wished I could be home. I wished none of this had ever happened.
I closed my eyes and imagined myself in the village, on a normal boring day. What I would give to be back there! I felt a strong wind whirling around me, tugging at me. I opened my eyes, confused, and found myself laying on the ground in the forest right outside the village. Had it all been a dream?
I looked down at my hand and gritted my teeth. Nope. Still black. It was all real. I stood up and dusted myself off. The sun was just beginning to set. I quickly sprinted through the forest and towards the village.
