The person who walked in filled me with a rage, a rage so strong that I cracked the glass on George's desk. "Bloody hell! I'm sorry Georgie!" I hardly ever did that shit anymore.
"What happened?!" He stood and looked out too.
I was rage crying, with my eyes shut.
"Dammit..." he kissed my forehead. "I got it love." He was nervous as hell when he left the office; he was adjusting his tie and fixing his hair the whole way out.
Break time was over, and I walked out of the office toward the checkout counter. I slowly looked out into the store, but didn't see either of them. Ron tapped me on the shoulder and pointed out into the street.
There they were, talking. She was smiling and he was rubbing her arm. I bit my cheek to stop the tears, and clenched my fists on the counter. Ron rubbed my back and walked over to help another customer.
I knew she won him back. I felt an overwhelming sadness. I knew she would, and I knew he'd go back, but for the past few weeks, I had a small hope that he would be mine... and only mine, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be...
I lost him in that moment.
