Kate's POV~

"So how was your summer"
I asked as we got our milkshakes.

"It was really good actually, nothing too exciting though. Spent some time at the beach and worked with my uncle a bit. You?"

Well that explains to amazing tan.

"I spent a lot of time at the beach, did a calendar shoot and Aleisha and I took a trip up the coast. Needless to say I had a great summer, I'm sad it's over."

I frowned slightly at the thought and sipped my milkshake. Aleisha is my sister. Well...not biologically. See, her mom is my aunt. But my parents died in a horrific car accident when I was seven years old. So my aunt took me in and adopted me. That's how Aleisha and I became sisters.

"And how is Aleisha doing?"

"Same old same old. She has a new boy of the month and is 'happier than ever' so yeah."

I laughed, Ashton knows how Aleisha can be so...

"Speaking of 'new boys,' I think Luke has a crush on you."

Ashton said as I nearly choked on my milkshake. 

"Why would you think that? We only met a couple hours ago and spoke for about two seconds."

I chuckled at the thought.

"Well the second you left he asked if you and I were a couple and stuff."

"Okay? Maybe he was just curious. That's not a crime, nor an indication that he's crushing."

"I don't know Katie he was checking you out. But don't worry I had a talk with him."

"Oh god, Ashton what did you say?"

"Nothing.....just that if he hurt you I'd kill him."

He defended. 

"Ashton Fletcher you can't threaten your new roommate just because he looked at me!"

"Yes I can. You are my baby sister Kate, I won't have anyone hurting you."

"Ashton I just met the kid! So did you for that matter."

"Okay fine no more threatening.....for now."

"*huff* Alright, I'll take what I can get."

"So we have three days until class starts, what do you want to do?"

He asked, tilting his head and having his mess of waves flop over. I just giggled at the sight.

"I don't know I still need to finish unpacking and then maybe just relax?"

"Sounds fun, but Josh is throwing this amazing party at his new house and I think we should go!"

"I don't know, the last time we went to one of Josh's parties you had a hangover for like two days!"

I warned, knowing this would end badly.

"Oh come on bugs, we have to go. It's like a last hurrah before summer ends! Please?"

He begged, letting the 'ea' drag on for a good 10 seconds.

"Okay fine we can stop by."

I rolled my eyes, giving into the dreaded hangover to come.

"Yes!"

I cheers, hitting his fist on the table slightly in victory.

"We can even ask blondie to come."

He nodded.

"Yeah he could probably use to social exposure since he's new."

"Exactly. Alright well it is a 'lights out' party so you know what to wear."
