(Mine was a little before third grade 🌝) Brillari'sPoint of View~
Roze and I snuggled with each other in my bed. From the time since she had came over until about an hour ago, she had been helping me claim my prize and figure out the directions that I had neglected to read. But flyers and IG stories were already filled with news on Ari Brill. I was out there!
I couldn't wait to call Adorah and tell her the good news if she wasn't already informed by her eyes and ears. Right now though, Roze and I were making funny faces for our Snaps and contemplating making a Live on my account.
"I probably should so people can get to see my personality, and not just see my music or my name and not have a human to go with it," I decided. "Whoaaaa. Check this out," Roze said, showing me her phone. My eyebrows rose. Someone had video recorded a Live about another rapper talking shit about me and them being the "only stud rapper from Houston".
"What?" I asked, disgusted. "Bro, it's literally millions of people here. We all don't have to fight for the top. We can both be good stud rappers," I said to my phone. "Maybe you should jump on Live and talk about it," Roze suggested. "Bro, ion do that internet beef shit. Like, why does she have a problem with me? Do you remember her? Do you know her?"
Roze shook her head, scrolling down someone's page. "Here's her @, Ima check out her page and see what I find."
"Maybe she was in the competition too and got jealous cause I won or something," I said, frowning. "I don't know but I don't like this bitch," Roze murmured. "Ro-ze," I laughed, nudging her. "Whaaa? I don't and I'll say it again," she rolled her eyes aggressively. "SHoRtY got less followers than you and her ass got her nudes leaked. Anddd, it's wit niggas."
I snatched Roze's phone from her and bopped her, "Girl, how the hell you be findin this type of stuff?"
"I don't know, it just be coming to me," she shrugged innocently.
"Do the Live and be oblivious to everything and show people your fun side. Don't come into this industry with drama."
"Roze how are you so immature and vile yet so wise?" I asked genuinely. She tackled me playfully, and started the Live on my phone. "I- Roze!" I giggled. People were going to think something else was going on. Immediately people began to join.
"Hi- Hi, I'm Roze and this is my best friend Ari Brill." We broke out into a fit of laughter then I shushed her and moved her off of me. "Nahh, but hey yall. How y'all doin?" I didn't want anyone to think we was high or anything.
I read the comments. Most were about this Karlen Dizzy. "Look guys, I don't even know what's going on. But I do know that's not how I want y'all to know me. I'm a very nice person and I'm never involved in drama and stuff like this on the regular," I chuckled. "Um, Ima start off wit a few things about me, and then I'll take questions I guess."
My ass was acting like this was my first Live. Especially with the amount of followers I had already had before the rap competition. "My name is Brillari Haven. My rap name is Ari Brill. I'm 20 years old. I'm a Capricorn. I enjoy rapping, but before this I did modeling if you've peeped my page. I'm from New York but I've lived in Houston all my life...if you haven't heard," I laughed again. I thought some more then shrugged, "I'll take any more questions."
"Ouu, I got a received question," Roze did a shimmy. "Okay, I've known Brill since.." Roze looked over at me as if asking for confirmation on how much to say. "Since we were younger...sorta," I finished. Roze shrugged and agreed. "I'm 20, and my nickname is Nic. Ya know, since my middle name is Nicole. I used to be a rapper as a child, Roze Nicole. Um, I'm single ladies," she smirked.
I read through the comments, trying to move past the ones trying to take a shot at Roze. "Whoa..." I said. "I never said that I was too professional to accept the label's deal. In my IG post thanking the people that made the competition, I explained that for the longest I've wanted to be solo and not have any sort of management except myself but I figured that being under a label was a good and beneficial idea now. I love the idea," I exaggerated at the end.
"I convinced her by the way," Roze nodded.
"Exactly. I never said I was too professional. I'm far from that. My music is just now getting to any sort of status," I explained.
I read more comments. "Yeah, spread the news back and tell people the truth. Yeah, I don't know anything about why Karlen Dizzy is coming for me and I never said I was too good to be a part of a label. I'm appreciative of my opportunities."
I looked over at Roze and shook my head, disappointed. Not two minutes into the spotlight and this was my life. "What...what do you recommend for an aspiring rapper?" Roze read. "Hmm, follow your heart," she said simply, shrugging.
"There's no hard plan to it all, just chase your dreams, not the bag. The bag will come," I told them, smiling softly.
"Ay, they say that Karlen Dizzy joined. She wants to show her face," Roze nudged me.
I accepted Karlen's request and she came on shouting. "Bitch! Don't nobody like you bitch! I'm the stud rapper from Houston! I'm the top rapper! Yeen got nunin on me bitch! I got mo fans den you! I'll send my followers on you! You a pussy ass bitch!"
"Hold on, hold on. Ian do nunin man, why you got all the hate in the world out towards me? What did I do? Just lemme know?" I said, frowning. "Bitch! Don't nobody wanna talk to you! I don't talk to pussy ass hoes! I'm the only stud rapper from Houston! I'm on da top! I'm not too good for a label deal!"
"Whoaaa, chill man. Answer her questions," Roze gestured to me while looking at Karlen, "What did she do to you?"
I wasn't even shaking in anger like usual, I was just confused. "Bitch! Aint nobody talkin to you! I'll get my fans on you!" Karlen hollered at Roze. She was sitting in a studio and her niggas was hyping her up. Probably actually her niggas. I'm surprised that Roze didn't pop off though, she only stared hard at Karlen.
"Yo, what did I do to you? I'm confused as fuck, man," I said, hands in the air.
"Bitch!"
She left my Live and I looked over at Roze like "what the fuck" man. "Bro, I don't know. Shorty crazy," Roze shook her head. "This was not the plan," I sighed. I looked down at my phone, remembering I was still on Live. "Y'all got anymore questions?"
The chat was booming about how Karlen was in the wrong and everything. It's amazing how people switch sides so quickly. Roze took one look at me and waved "goodbye" to the Live, before closing it. She dropped my phone and wrapped her arms around me.
"Shhh, it's okay, Brill."
I laid my head on her chest, wishing my sister was here. Adorah and Roze were two of the same soul but things just weren't the same.
