Taylor's Point of View~

I watched Brillari sleep as we headed back from her parent's home in a rental car. She hasn't had the nerve to go inside, and despite her dragging me out here to go with her on a slightly two day trip and not going inside...I knew that this was a lot to handle.

Plus...I kind of enjoyed being in her presence when she was quiet. She talked too much. "Are you just going to watch me sleep the whole car ride?" she murmured into her hand.

"Oh," I blushed, looking away.

"You good," she mumbled.

"I saw that you were putting out a song for Dizzy. Have you...gotten it all together yet?" I asked randomly. "Yeah, ima go in the studio later on today. I didn't expect my them to live so far away. Is it Monday yet?"

"Who your parents? And yea it's five," I laughed.

"Yea.......Oh how the time flies by," she chuckled. She sat up straighter and moved her hair out of her face. "We goin back to your house or mine?"

"Yours. And I'll just get an Uber back home, unless you want me to take the rental car home. It'd be cheaper on me," I chuckled.

"Just come and spend the night at my house. I don't want you out on the road at this time of day," she said. "I'll be fine. I'm grown," I rolled my eyes. "You gone stop rollin dem eyes, miss ma'am," Brill joked.

"And what you gon do bout it?" I argued back playfully, making a right turn. "How far are we from my house?" she asked randomly. "Probably a good thirty minutes according to Google Maps."

She looked over at my phone, "You gotta Droid?"

"Nahh, but I prefer to use Google Maps. It got more helpful features."

"Agreed," she said. "Anyways, ima get you back fo bein smart wimme."

"You don't gotta pretend to be nice to me for me to help you, Brillari."

"I wasn't. You seem like a decent person too," she frowned.

"My bad then, I misjudged," I apologized.

"It's okay, I'm used to being misjudged," she said softly. "We can go back on another day and check out your parents okay," I assured her. "Yeah, ima be focused on my song today and squishing all of this drama."

"Maybe once we solve the real case I can figure out why Karlen mysteriously hates you."

"I have a hunch on that," Brillari chuckled, "probably jealousy."

"Could still be sumin more though," I shrugged. "True, but I think after everything in my life is solved...I'll be done with cases for a little while now."

"Agreed.....Well I'm the PI," I laughed at myself. "I think I'm going back to sleep. Wake me up when we get to my house," she mumbled, and curled up back against the car door.

"Alright."
