Hendery ran his fingers through his
hair in frustration due to the ruckus going on around him. He sat in the middle of the library, servants scrambling to pick up books and what he assumed was them arguing about what shelf they belonged on.

He soon came to realize that any book from Earth was some cheesy romance, so instead he was head deep in language books. It seemed almost useless to learn an alien language if he wasn’t even going to stay there, nor did he have enough time to wrap his head around the concept.

Defeated, he let out a long exasperated sigh and pushed the book forward, replacing it with his head face down on the table.

‘I never thought learning could be so painful…’ He groaned.

There were two light sounds on the table in front of him and the chair across from him was pulled back and pushed slightly forward.

“You must be a terrible student.” Ten said.

Hendery lifted up his head a little too excitedly which he regretted immediately. The uniform Ten usually wore was replaced with a black sweater with the sleeves rolled up, blue ripped jeans and a pair of black Converse. Two coffees sat on the table in front of them and Ten held a cool expression on his face.

“You look nice but, I am so confused.” Hendery furrowed his eyebrows “Is this another bad attempt at trying to make me feel more comfortable.”

Ten laughed and leaned back in his chair. “You know, I lived on Earth for quite awhile and never met a human as rude as you.”

Hendery’s eyes opened wide as he leaned toward Ten with interest.
“You, what???”

“I said what I said, and I never lie, Wong Kun-Hang.”

“Oh god I hate that, never call me that.”

Ten grinned, “It’s a pretty name though, what a shame, it’s much better than Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul.”

“Whoa is that your alien name?”
“It’s a Thai name jackass. Just drink your coffee.” He moved one of the coffees towards Hendery.

“You know, I have only lived here for about a week and I can already tell you are the rudest alien here.”

“Well then.” Ten wrapped his hands around the coffee in front of Hendery and started slowly pulling it away.

“No- I take it back, you are the kindest, smartest, and most handsome thing in the universe.” Hendery smiled roguishly and took the coffee back from Ten. “Though, I did say you owe me one.”

“Oh the journey to one of the kitchens must be so daunting, you poor thing, you must have been so scared.” Ten teased.

Hendery sat up straight in retaliation and made a troubled expression. “Oh and it was, the horror. You are my hero!” he slouched back down in his chair and smiled, but his expression became bittersweet.

“What’s wrong?”

If Hendery could tell the truth he would but he didn’t want to upset Ten if he could even attempt to explain it. He felt mixed emotions when it came to Ten. He trusted him, and he absolutely loved his smile and just about everything about him. As much as he hated to admit it, he knew he would miss Ten when he returned home.
