Chapter 10 (TW Minor Character Death + Blood)

They decide to wait a little while until Taehyung regains his strength. There is no need to rush, but neither can they hide forever. After what Taehyung has done, it's very likely that these traffickers have already noticed their presence.

Jeongguk pulls the demon aside while the warlocks discuss the spells that can be used. "Hey, are you really all right? You look pale."

"Don't worry about me, Ggukie." Taehyung smiles at him. Jeongguk's concern for him warms his heart.

"What exactly did you do? Did you try to find out if they are using magic?" The vampire can't help it, he's curious about everything that concerns the older. After they got closer, he started to see the demon in a different light. Maybe he's finally stopped denying his feelings. The planned clarifying conversation is definitely necessary, even if they only come out as friends afterwards. Jeongguk no longer finds any point in hating him.

Taehyung leans forward, only stops when he is very close to the other's face. "I can cast a few spells too. Made sure you won't get hurt." He winks and takes the opportunity to give Jeongguk a quick kiss on the cheek, causing the boy's eyes to widen and gasp silently. Taehyung giggles, "cute."

What he is hiding, however, is that if they are tortured, he will get all the pain instead of Jeongguk. Taehyung is immortal and can endure pain without any fear of dying. Jeongguk, on the other hand, can die from various things, age is not one of them though.

"Hey lovebirds," Jimin tries to get their attention. When he has it, he continues, "we have to go now."

Taehyung links his fingers to Jeongguk's, squeezes them lightly, and then strokes his knuckles with his thumb. "We're ready, what do we do first?"

Namjoon, who is hugging his boyfriend from behind, points his chin in the direction of the bad boys' hideout. "We knock and pretend we're lost. You two are hiding nearby."

"If it's the ones who took you, then give us a sign. I will always keep an eye on you." Seokjin adds, his voice doesn't tremble, even if he really doesn't have a good feeling about it.

"Okay, sounds like a plan. Jeonggukie and I are good at hiding, that shouldn't be a problem. Maybe we should come up with a code word if something is wrong." It's the safest way to communicate without making the others suspicious.

Jimin grins. "How about we take 'carrots'?"

Jeongguk rolled his eyes and knew that sooner or later someone would mock his front teeth. He scoffs. "Why carrots, that's so damn random." He pretends not to know why.

"Because you look like a rabbit. I couldn't think of anything else." Jimin shrugs.

Taehyung can't hide the grin. "It's cute to be honest, makes your fangs look small and cute next to your front teeth."

"Excuse me?! I have big, dangerous fangs!" It hurts Jeongguk's pride, there is no way he will be ridiculed by them.

"Sure baby they do." The older nudges one of them with his finger. However, the slip of the nickname doesn't go unnoticed by the others. While the warlocks groan, Jeongguk hits Taehyung chest, embarrassed.

"Stop it, not here in front of them." He mumbles shyly while biting and nibbling his lower lip.

Taehyung isn't sure he heard correctly. "So you mean I can call you baby when we're alone?"
