Chapter 2

Hope PoV:
We stared at each other for what it seemed like forever, but then I broke the eye contact and walked away as fast as I could. I couldn't believe it? What the hell is Josie doing here?

I was lost in my head as I was walking down the street and I almost accidentally walked in front of a moving car, when I felt someone pull me back. I knew exactly who it was, since she still uses the same perfume.

Josie PoV:
I walked around listening to what the shop assistant was telling me when I felt eyes on me. I turned around to see... Hope.

I just started staring at her in shock and confusion. It felt like ages, but she walked away quicker than you can say cheese.

I instantly followed her and when she got nearly hit by a car, I pulled her towards me "hey Hope.". She smiled at me "hey Josie.".

An incredibly long and awkward silence followed and we just stared at each other. "So, I guess I should thank you for saving me". I just smiled and awkwardly, but playfully punched her arm "no need to stranger. So, what brought you to New York?".

"I study here at Yale. I didn't think you'd be here. I'm sorry but I have to go.". She said, but before she walked away I hugged her. I held her body as close to mine as I could.

After I realised what I had just done (5 minutes later), I jumped back and looked at her with horror in my eyes "Hope, I'm so-..", but she interrupted me immediately "what was that Josie?".

I shook my head and looked to the ground "nothing. I don't know what took over me, I'm so so sorry. I should just go-.."

I almost finished my sentence when I heard a voice "Hope, there you are". There was Landon walking weirdly towards us "oh hey Josie, haven't seen you in a while".

I offered him a small smile, which he returned. Then he hugged Hope and kissed her... on her lips.... with his lips.... they fucking kissed right in front of me.

I just quickly ran off back to my dorm. I don't know why I felt that way though, it was probably just because I missed Penelope... it had to be.

Penelope PoV:
I went to Josie's dorm to surprise her and I unlocked the door with my extra key. When I got in I saw her lying in bed looking almost sad.

I walked closer and crawled on bed with her "hey baby.". She mumbled something, but it probably wasn't important. I hugged her from behind and we fell asleep.
