Chapter 34

*New Years day special*

Lucy's pov

"Oh shit"Natsu says not seeming to know what to do. At least he knows what that is he's done his research. "Can you make it to the hospital or need them to come to you?" He asks me worriedly. I do a quick assessment of myself to see how much pain I'm in. I decide that I can make it. He picks me up which he's been doing a lot of lately a puts me in the car. Uh men in thinking they're so strong and that they can do anything. He drives fast but carefully if that makes any sense. I was just focused on breathing and getting through the pain in between contractions. It's a blur the whole car ride there I only really come to with my surrounding when we stop.

We are by the emergency room section and Natsu jumps out of the car to find someone telling me to stay here. Like bruh what else can I do but stay here I roll my eyes but know that he's just trying to help me I look out the window to see him come back with a doctor wheeling a wheelchair to me. They both take one of my arms and slowly lower me down onto the wheelchair wince but the pains bearable. Natsu never let go of me and just moves his grip to my hand instead of arm the whole time. They start asking me stuff like how far apart my contractions are it seems to never end and blah blah blah. I corporate and answer but I'm getting more annoyed by the second as the doctors writes things down on his clipboard.

Finally I've had enough of waiting and say "just get this bastard out of me." He looks startled for a few good seconds and I feel bad for the poor doctor. H rushes out of the room and doesn't return at all. They find me someone that seems to know what they're doing and thankfully a woman. I don't want no man to see what's going on with me between those legs. "Ok ma'am you have to push" the woman tell me. As she's rushing around the room washing her hands and snaps on the gloves. She sets up her area for the baby and gets everything ready and sterilized in record time. I nod my head cooperating and push really hard squeezing Natus hand as I do so.

I see Natsu wince in pain and say "ok babe." "Don't ow babe me" I say listen what you're feeling right now isn't even a fraction compared to what I'm feeling now and it's all because of you. I hate you! Stupid! This hurts like-" I'm cut off as a major contraction comes on all of a sudden. "HOLY MOTHER OF-" I express to the whole world how I'm feeling at the top of my lungs. I think everyone in the whole hospital heard me. I give the biggest push I've given this whole birth and hear crying.

I did it I think to myself and slump back in bed sweaty and exhausted Natsu cuts umbilical cord when the doctor offers. I watch her closely as the doctor bundles up my baby in the baby blanket. She hands the baby over to me and Natus rushes to my side and puts his hand on her forehead and kisses me. Our baby turned out to be a girl I come to tears when I first lay eyes on her. "Oh baby I'm sorry that I called you that but I'm still not giving birth again if I have any more they will be by adoption only."

Natsu nods in agreement probably not wanting that either to go through any of that again especially the birth. I gaze into my daughters beautiful chocolate brown eyes. "Abigail" I saw turning my head to look at Natsu. He seems to understand why too he's known me for a while so he gets it as soon as I saw her name the fireworks go off. It's almost like it's perfect timing and was planned but it wasn't. The fireworks are gold and say happy new year! She's not even crying just happy to be here in my arms. She's a New Years baby and a that our start of 2021. I wouldn't have it any other way without her in it. This whole thing is just too perfect.

I kiss Natsu on the lips as the fireworks erupt behind us as I hear cheers and other things. That's when I know this is just the beginning of a great year. I'm smiling down look at my perfect small family of trio.

What's significant about the name Abigail to them?
