Good deeds

We had awakened to find that a fresh blanket of glistening snow had fallen while we were asleep. The new heap of snow brought a sharp coldness, but a beauty that I could always admire as it brightened up the planet, making everything seem light and fun. We had dressed in the warm gear that would keep us from freezing as we would head out to deliver the cookies we had baked for the Citizens of Onderon, another act of Lux's kindness that would never run out.  

He had held every door open for me as we walked out of the building to be smacked with the frigid coldness that burned our skin. I held my breathe as I galced upon the glimmering landscape I saw in front of me ever so softly. I couldn't but help but think of one of the last times,  that time with Lux on Carlac. The time I had rescued him from being executed, than ran chills down my spin, the thought of if I hadn't been there that day Count Dooku would have slaughtered him. I questioned my trust for him that day though, after all eh decide to stun me and basically kidnap me just to brng us to the health watch. The trap he did not see, and well were we well, um pretended to be engaged, and he um, well, he kissed him. It's not like it meant anything it was a forced kiss after all, it didn't mean anything. But that experience and when he left it sparked something in us, it brought up this spark that had ignightened from when we first meet. 

"Happy life day," I heard Lux's euphpnious voice give a freezing citizen the best of his wishes as he handed him one of the cookies we had neatly wrapped. I turned my face to him and observed as he handed the next one in the same gentle way. I reached down into the deep tote bag and took on of the cookies into my hand the plastic crinkling under my soft glove. 

"Happy Life Day," I did exactly what I had seen Lux do, as I gave a polite smile to the citizen. They thanked me in a quiet voice as a shaky smile emerged across their shaking body. I could see why Lux loved to treat everyone with this devoted kindness, for he must have loved making other's smile, making them feel loved even if they had no one in their lives. Maybe it was because he had no blood family left, because no one showed his family any respect, no hope, no care as he became an orphan, or maybe he had always just been this kind hearted, always caring more about others than himself. To be honest this is something that I've always liked about him, I feel like there are not many people who have kindness like his any more. 

Helping him with this act of kindness I have to say was quit enjoyable besides the fact that my back hurt the whole time, but this who we were as friends, to help spread love to those who need it. Everyone needs some act of kindness in their life wether if it's just a simple smile, a complement, or holding the door open. Every act of kindness matters, and I beeive that is what he wanted people to see, he wanted people to know that no matter who someone is, no matter what they've done they deserve some kindness, that is except for Count Dooku in his book considering everything but I got that, I understood him.  And soon I forget my reasoing for not wanting to be here, not wanting to be with my friend. 

"Making this a tradition huh?" A ederly lady wondered as her old wise eyes looked atteh scene she saw. We were almost out of cookies but we still had a few. "So, are you prepared for the meeting at the end of this week?" She gave a weak yellow grin as she took a cookie into her hand. 

"Uh- yeah," Lux faked a smie on his face, I could tell as he rubbed the back of his neck, of course something Lux did when he was lying, or when he was anxious. 

"See you then Sentaor Bonteri, nice to see you Ms. Tano," She gave us a farwell before she was on her way.   Lux and I stood there in a blank silence before I finally spoke. 

"So you have a senate speech soon?"

"Yeah, I'm honestly really nervous for it," 

"Is that why Senator Amidala is here?" I questioned as we bagn to walk across the bustling street. 

"Yes, it's with a lot of the Senators, on matters with the Republic planets," He turned to try and explain it me the best he could, but I understood. After all, when Padme introcued Lux and I it was so I could learn about Politics. 

"Ok, where are we going?" I wondered curiously as we contuined to move farther away from the direction of the path back to the apartment and we had handed out all of the cookies. 

"Oh, I am taking you somewhere, I do want you t experience some of preparation for Life Day activities," he gave a mysterious smile as he continued to lead me around a corner. 

"That's right I forgot all about Life Day," I remembered the favorite holiday across the galaxy, after all it was that time of year. 

"Yes, and I know that Jedi's don't really do you know celebrations and whimsical activities like we do, so since your here, I'm going to let you experience it all, even though your support to be "working"" He chuckled as he threw up some air quotes briefly before he held open a door for me. 

"Well hopefully I be good at other things because Life day cookies I'm not really good at," I joked as the warmth from inside the building began to dethough our icicle bodies. 

"What can I get you Bonteri?" I was starled as a deep voice boomed from behind us. 

"two Hot chocolates please," He called back sweetly before he drew his attention back on me. 

"Hot chocolate?" I had never heard of something by that name, and I didn't care if I seemed foolish I was curious.; 

"Ok, you've never had hot choaclate!? Oh my your holiday spirit is worse than I thought," he shook his head with a light gigle before he grabbed the stemaing mugs. "Thank you Joderx have a good day," He gave a bright smile before he placed some credits on the counter. He handed me the stemaing mug, and once it touched my hand I was satisfied. The warmh of the liquid that squashed around inside made my finger tingle under the warmth seeming that they were frozen. I watched carefully as Lux blew gently on the lid of his cup, I assumed you do it for the same reason you do with tea, so I did the same. when I finally decided to bring the cup to mouth to drink it, the warm thick liquid blessed my mouth with that single sip.

"Oh my force!" I exclaimed as I pulled it away from lips. 

"It's good isn't it?" He assumed I liked it as he was filled with laughter with my reaction. 

"This is so good!" I couldn't help but almost shout it as the experience contained as the single sip began to warm my body as it traveled down further into it. "This is unexplanatory" I turned my head to him before I took another big sip, the feeling still the same. Through my shock and bolt of strange happiness I could feel Lux's eyes carefully observing me with a sense of lightness, a sense of ease.
