"This might be a dumb question, but how are you feeling?" Todoroki questioned as he glanced back in the rearview mirror, making sure Bakugo was still following them in Midoriya's broken car.
"You're right, that is a dumb question." He mumbled in reply as he turned his gaze out the window. He watched the tree's go by while his mind was running through every mistake he ever made with Sero. He shouldn't have went to that party, he shouldn't have went on a date with him, he should have left the first time Sero hit him. There were so many mistakes running through his mind.
"So where is your new apartment?" Todoroki questioned, dying to make small talk with his best friend. It was never this hard before, but he felt like he was walking on eggshells.
"It's in the same building as Bakugo's." Midoriya replied with an agitated sigh. He knew Todoroki was only trying to be his best friend, but he wanted nothing more than to be alone right now. He didn't want to think about his new apartment, or about the fact that his amazing car was vandalized to the point where it was hardly recognizable as his car.
"Is Bakugo a good person?" Todoroki questions with a small sigh. He could see how much his best friend actually cared for the blond, so he had to ask.
"He's been a great help if that is what you're asking." Midoriya replied in an unsure tone as he turned his gaze towards his best friend. "He can kind of relate to what I am going through and how I feel, so it's nice to have him around."
"Is that the only reason?" Todoroki questioned with a sad smile.
"Are you asking if I like him?" The green haired man scoffed. "I'm no where near ready for another relationship."
"I know that Midoriya. I wouldn't want you to jump into another relationship until you are in a better place. You need a little more time to heal, but you also need to consider your feelings and his when you guys are hanging out." Todoroki replied with a sigh as the GPS echo'd through the car, telling them their destination would be on the right in a mile.
"What do you mean consider my feelings and his?" The green haired man questioned in confusion as he kept his eyes peeled for the entrance to the auto repair shop.
"You need to remember that how you feel towards him might change as you continue to heal, and you need to be prepared for that. You could grow to hate him, or you could grow to love him." Todoroki explained as he hit his breaks and turned his turn signal to enter the parking lot. "And as for his feelings, I'm pretty sure he likes you and as more than a friend. So while you guys are hanging out, keep that in mind too. You don't want to do anything to lead him on because you are hurting and don't properly know how you're healing yet." He finished explaining as he pulled into a parking spot close to the door.
"Bakugo doesn't like me like that." Midoriya responded in bewilderment. Todoroki didn't say anything as he gave Midoriya a knowing look.
"He doesn't!" Midoriya defended with a small laugh. It was crazy that talking about the blond for only two minutes already made the weight on his shoulders feel lighter.
"Mhmm." His best friend responded with a smirk as the two quickly exited the car.
"You guys okay?" Bakugo questioned with an amused look as his gaze fell upon Midoriya's smiling face. The way he smiled was incomparable to the blond. He loved the way his cheek bones rose as he smiled, making his freckles more prominent.
"We're fine." The green haired man responded as his smile slowly faded away. "Let's get this over with so we can go back home." He said with a sad sigh as he headed for the door. Bakugo gave Todoroki a confused look as Midoriya walked away. The bi-colored hair man didn't say anything as he shrugged and began walking inside with the blond. They were definitely surprised to see Midoriya talking with the clerk. With the mental breakdown he had earlier, they were expecting for them to do all the talking.
