"WEAR A SWIMSUIT, I'LL SEE YOU IN AN HOUR. MEET ME ON THE LIVINGSTON DOCK." The voice of Theo Thornton rang through Amber's ears; it being the first thing she heard since waking up only seconds ago due to the phone call. Without giving her a chance to respond, or argue, he hung up. She knew she didn't have a choice since she was supposed to make her 'relationship' with Theo seem believable and the only way to do that would be to go out in public with him.
After freshening up and changing into nothing but a violet bikini, cover-up in hand, Amber descended down the staircase in hopes of finding something to eat in the kitchen.
"Someone's finally awake." Rafe spoke once he saw the girl. He couldn't help but admire her figure and the way her bikini accentuated her slight curves. Her hair was still a slightly tangled mess and their was no makeup applied to her face; Rafe loved seeing her like that. She wasn't trying to look good in the slightest yet she was still gorgeous. There was no denying it, everyone's who's met the girl always had to throw in a compliment about her looks. "Someone's all dressed up." Amber averted her gaze from the older boy to the younger, smiling upon seeing her brother sat with Rafe.
"Oh please this isn't even casual for Amber and all she's wearing is a bikini." Topper scoffed, walking out the pantry and into the kitchen with a bag of pistachios in hand.
"A very expensive bikini." Her brother said with a roll of his eyes. Everything the girl wore was overpriced, but no one expected anything less of the kook princess.
"Good morning to the three of you too." She found herself shaking her head as she opened the fridge door, "You obviously have plans, what are they?" Rafe asked, glancing up from his bowl of cereal.
"Don't know, Theo just told me to wear a bathing suit." She shrugged, not thinking much about the fact. After all, they did live on an island. The two younger boys looked around the room stupidly, knowing she didn't have a choice when it came to hanging out with Theo.
"How's it going with him?" Mikael asked, sending an apologetic look his sisters way. He knew it wasn't his fault, but he couldn't help but feel slightly guilty. Maybe if he hung around figure eight more often his parents wouldn't constantly force his sister to do things for them and rather it be Mikael. Of course Amber didn't mind all that much; She knew if it wasn't her it'd be her brother and she'd hate for his teenage years to be filled with doing things or going places he had no interest in. She knew the feeling all too well.
Amber glanced between the three boys, knowing she couldn't say how she was actually feeling; Rafe was there. "It's going well so far." She sent a smile to no one in particular as she took out different types of fruits.
"If he fucks with your feelings i'm fucking him up." Rafe spoke harshly, earning a raised brow from the younger of the Livingston siblings. "Why do you care?" Mikael asked him with a mouthful of food.
Rafe sent a quick glare his way before speaking up once again, "I care because I-" He paused for a second, not wanting to show he actually had feelings for the girl stood in front of him "Because I've known her for years and she's never dated someone; If she's going too, which is completely normal, it should be with someone who feels the exact same, if not more for her." Rafe now turned to face the girl who he was speaking about, "You dont know him that well Amber, all I'm saying is that you should date someone you do, someone who knows you well enough to care enough about you. Tell me, does he even know your favorite color?" Rafe spoke, earning different expressions from everyone stood in the room.
Amber scoffed, "Of course he knows my favorite color." Theo didn't. In fact, he didn't know more about her than anyone else that wasn't in her inner circle. "I should go see where Theo is." She spoke quickly before turning back towards the staircase and taking her fruit bowl with her.
The two younger boys both sent the older boy a questioning look once they knew Amber was out of ear shot; Rafe didn't even care about his own sisters relationship, why would he care about Amber's?
"I just don't want her coming to my door in the middle of the night crying because of some dumbass alright? I don't need to deal with that. Fuck off, okay?" Rafe's words were harsh as he abruptly stood from the kitchen stool, walking off after glaring at the two males.
"Oh, he's definitely jealous it isn't him my sisters going out with." Mikael spoke, eating the remains of Rafe's food.
"Rafe's never had feelings for a girl, c'mon man." Topper shook his head at the Livingston boy.
"You're blind bro." Mikael chuckled at Topper who was now rolling his eyes. Although only one was blood related to the Livingston girl, they were both brothers to her; one obviously more protective than the other.
"Hey, Theo?" Amber looked up at the boy who was steering the small boat to god knows where. She was still asking herself why she let him take charge of the wheel seeing as he had no sense of direction for absolutely anything.
"Yes, Amber?" Theo glanced behind him to face the girl who laid back, adjusting her Cartier sunglasses to rest over her eyes.
"What's my favorite color?" She asked, genuinely curious to whether or not he'd know.
"Pink? Possibly purple." He shrugged, looking around at where they were.
"Wrong." She sighed, playing with the rings scattered across numerous of her fingers.
"So?" He asked as he stopped the boat, gesturing for her to tell him the answer. "It's blue." She spoke softly, letting her fingers glide against the oceans small waves.
"Seriously?" Theo questioned her answer. He wouldn't expect for someone as preppy and rich as her to have blue as a favorite color. He'd expect something more girly seeing as who she was and what she valued. What he thought she valued.
"I've loved the color for as long as I can remember. There's so many reasons to love it, ya' know?"
"What are your reasons?" Theo asked as he took a seat next to her, which to his surprise, she didn't argue against.
"For starters, the sky. You know it's gonna' be a nice day when the sky is clear and you look up and everything is blue." Amber looked up, perching her glasses at the top of her head as she stared at the bright blue sky above, "It's also the color of the ocean," Amber crossed a leg, putting her inner right ankle into eyesight, showing a tattoo she had of a wave; She got it done on the mainland during a short trip with Rafe Cameron. "I've always loved the water. It's the one thing that never fails to make me feel comforted; ever since I can remember I always found myself heading towards the ocean. It's beautiful yet so complex." Amber let out a chuckle as she avoided eye contact with the boy sat next to her. For a second she almost let herself sound as if she was letting her guard down around him. She wouldn't dare.
Looking down at the water, Amber found herself thinking of other reasons as to why she loved the color; one being because they were the color of Rafe Cameron's eyes. That beautiful sky blue, that could go on forever. His eyes were captivating, the type you could get lost in if you looked into them for too long. She loved it; and him. Although she would never let herself admit what her mind already knew.
