I make my way over to James, pretty much running towards him to get him away from the trap door. Now that I think about it, it is pretty visible. James looked terrified, so I decided to calm down. He backed away from the door and put his hands up.
"Okay, okay. I'm backing away now. Just- don't kill me-" He walked away to go back to his older brother.
"Thank youuu!" I said with a smile, looking back at 12 with a smile. "All better!"
12 was chuckling at James' misfortune, shaking her head. "You're terrifying, you know?"
I giggled, walking over to her. "I know," I said with a smile. I like scaring people if I'm being honest. It's fun.
"Anyways, I'm gonna make everyone a late dinner... Or, at least I'm gonna see if they're hungry first so I don't waste any food" I said, going to the fridge to see what we have.
12 went over to me, looking in the fridge as well. "Need any help?" She asked. I chuckled and looked at her with a weird face. "Help? You can't cook, silly" I ruffled up her hair. She just playfully rolled her eyes.
"Well- I know that. I'm just talking about preparing the food and stuff like that"
"Yeah, you can if you wanna. Thanks, Snowflake" I said with a smile, booping her nose. 'Snowflake' was a nickname I gave her a while back. She smiled back at me, seeming happy that I rebirthed the nickname.
"No problem, Gingerbread" She booped my nose as well, causing me to giggle. I give her a peck on the cheek and start heading out of the kitchen.
"Wait... Do you know where everyone is? I didn't see where James went"
12 shrugged. "I dunno, maybe they went into the bedroom?"
My eyes widened slightly as I rushed into the bedroom, finding everyone just looking around at my arsenal. Phelix had heard me come in and looked over at me.
"Oh, hey 13, you have some pretty cool stuff in here. I didn't know you were this badass"
I closed the closet and smiled at them. "Hi. Why'd you come into my room?" I asked, hoping they didn't find anything I didn't want them to see.
"Oh, well, we were just showing the survivors around, but once they saw the weapons they decided to leave. I think it was because of Suzy. I mean, she'll have to learn one day, right?" Phelix explained. James was probably still a bit frightened by what happened earlier, which would explain why he's not really talking. I simply nodded my head.
"Well, if you're going to enter someone's room, please ask permission first." I scolded Phelix, then looked at James. "Oh, and don't worry about earlier, I just didn't want you going over there"
Phelix looked confused, but James looked pretty relieved. As the two boys exited my room, I began to look and see if anything was out of place or taken. I did notice a few guns and knives out of place, but I just put them back like how they were before.
I decided to change out of my jeans and flannel, and into a tie-up shirt.. thing. Well, it's supposed to be a cardigan, but I'm wearing it as a shirt 'cause why not. I'm keeping my bra on though because I still need to stay civilized. Anyhow, I put on some pajama pants to go with the outfit.
When I go back out, I see Phelix, James, and the other three survivors on the couch watching a movie. 12 is sitting on a recliner. They all look up at me, well, 12 doesn't mind. She just continues to watch the TV.
"... What?? It's comfy! Now stop staring and let me make dinner" They all look away as I head into the kitchen. I see some pork chops set up on the kitchen counter with flour, eggs, and bread crumbs ready for the chops to be prepared in. The oven is also preheated.
"You, may not know how to cook, but you know how to get things prepped! Thank you!" I say loud enough for 12 to hear. I can hear a faint chuckle followed by a 'you're welcome'.
I finish making the pork chops and bring the plates to everyone along with silverware. Everyone thanked me, as they should, and began to eat. There was no room on the couch, so I decided to sit on the floor.
"Sorry I couldn't make any sides, we just need to ration the food, y'know?"
Everyone nodded and went back to eating. I started to pay attention to the TV. Apparently, they have on Home. I haven't seen this movie in a while, but it's still as amazing as I remember it.
As I'm watching the movie, I see something in the corner of my eye move. I flinch a little and tense up. A few seconds later I see a cockroach crawling towards me. I screeched and threw my knife at it, killing it. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy. I have horrible entomophobia (fear of insects).
"What? There was a cockroach, what else was I supposed to do??"
"You threw a knife at it... There was a lot you could've done-" Phelix stated, chuckling a bit.
12 shook her head, grabbing a napkin and picking it up off the floor. She threw it in the trash and let me sit in the recliner. She also gave me a new knife since mine was on the floor and dirty.
"Thanks, 12-" I smiled and continued eating, though much more cautious now.
"It's no problem," She said while washing the knife and sitting on the floor.
"So... We're all just gonna act like that didn't just happen? Okay..." The mother of Suzy said, seeming to be a little scared. Wow, I'm scaring a lot of people today.
"It happens a lot, you learn to get used to it," 12 said, continuing to watch the movie.
Once everyone was done eating, the brothers were on the couch, and the others were in their sleeping bags, 12 and I were in our bed. We just had some random channel playing on the TV. We were just cuddling and being cute because that's what we do.
"Today was... Eventful" I chuckled in a whisper. 12 nodded in agreement.
"Yep! We found some survivors, got some supplies, and I got to do it all with you"
I smiled and kissed 12 sweetly. "You're the best... I love you, sweetie"
"I love you too, cupcake," 12 said softly. We both drifted off to sleep, wondering what awaits us tomorrow.
