Chapter 23

Hikaru (POV)
After some time, Jean and a few others come in carrying some boxes.
Jean- Good news! Courtesy of the military police. And covered with a layer of dust.
They were guns and we got them out and started loading them.
Jean- Are you sure buckshot is the way to go? Seems like we might as well throw spit wads. I mean c'mon guys. Are guns even effective?
Armin- I dunno but they're bound to be better than nothing. We're looking at seven Titans in the supply room of the four meters tall variety. If we time this perfectly, this much ammo oughta be enough to do the trick. Step one, we lower a group into the area via lift to get the Titans' attention. Step two, when the Titans come within range, the group fires in all four directions simultaneously, blinding them. Then the hard part. The moment of truth, as it were. Before the titans have time to recover, seven of us swoop down from the ceiling and strike their vital regions. That's it. That's the plan. It puts all of our lives on the line. We screw up, we're dead. That's a hell of a risk for one attack but it's our only chance. Seven people have to slay seven Titans in one blow at the same time. We're gonna need the best of you. The seven soldiers most physically gifted and adept with their paring blades. You'll be the difference between life and death for the rest of us. I'm sorry. That's how it is.
Reiner- Sounds like good plan.
Annie- When you get down to it, the risk is the same for everyone. Doesn't really matter who goes.
Armin- Look I.....I'm willing to be talked out of this. One half baked strategy can't be our only option right?
Marco- Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. C'mon, with what we're looking at? Cause for our only option, it's pretty well thought out. If we give it our all, we might pull this one off!
Hikaru- It'll be fine Armin. You just have to have confidence in yourself. You're a better strategist than you give yourself credit for. I'm being serious. That mind if yours has saved not only myself but Mikasa, Eren, and Daisuke more times than we can remember.
Armin- When did I ever save you guys? That's not-
He gets interrupted by the sound of the lift arriving.
Mikasa- Do didn't realize it at the time Armin. We'll talk about it later.
Myself plus six others head down the steps while the rest take the lift.
Connie- Okay. So I'm gonna ask the obvious question. Can we do this without ODM gear?
Reiner- No problem. These guys are only four meters tall. Their weak spots are not too far above eye level.
Jean- He's right. Size won't be an issue; the spots's still one meter high and ten centimeters across.
Sasha- Back of the head to the nape of the neck!
Reiner- Worse comes to worst, you can always just shove one of these blades up their ass. That's the other weak spot.
Connie- Are you serious? That's news to me.
Sasha- Did I miss a day of training or something?
Jean- Come on. Knock it off Reiner. You want your last words to be an ass joke?
We get to the supply room and stealthy get into each of our positions. The lift comes down and everyone aboard it cocks their guns. The Titans start to take notice and approach the group of people.
Marco- Keep your cool! Only fire when they're within range!
Reiner- That's right. Wait for it.
Jean- Our lives are riding on this.
Connie- Gotta make this attack count.
We see the Titans get within finger length of the group.
Marco- Fire!!
The sounds of gunshots fill the room and the Titans start grabbing at their eyes.
Hikaru *mind*- That's the cue. Go!
I leap from my hiding spot and and have my blades in mid swing. I stab into the neck of the closest Titan to me and use the other blade to slash the nape. I push off of it and land on my feet with the now dead Titan laying before me.
Mikasa- I got mine! How are you guys?!
Hikaru- Down for the count!
Bertholdt- Sasha and Connie missed!
Jean- Lead em the hell back!
Without hesitation I go to the titan that Connie missed. I can see Annie going for it too. I go low for the achilles and Annie goes for the nape. We strike our target simultaneously and it goes down for good. Mikasa killed the other one.
Connie- I owe you guys one.
Annie- No worries.
Hikaru- Yeah we got your back.
Reiner- Wow. By the skin of your teeth. You're damn lucky you didn't end up worse off.
Jean- They're all dead! Start loading up supplies!
Mikasa (POV)
We fill up on gas and get new blades. Eventually we exit and most zip to the escape but Mikasa and I stop to see those two titans again. Armin comes up as well.
Armin- What're you two doing? We have to leave now!
Mikasa- Look down there.
The enemy titans have overpowered the two titans with numbers and are now eating them.
