Chapter 22

Natalie's POV

I woke up in the park next to Matt.

"Matt! Wake up!" I shook him.

"Five more minutes..." He groaned.

I decided to lay down next to him and kiss him. He smiled. It was so cute!

"That was a nice wake up call." Matt said as he finally opened his eyes.

I laughed.

"So uhm Matt.." I said.

"Yeah?" He responded.

"What are we?" I asked.

"Like what do you mean?" He said.

"Like are we dating or friends with benefits or..?" I laughed.

He swooped my hips in and kissed me softly.

He then whispered in my ear with a deep raspy tone, "You already know what we are baby."

I giggled and kissed his nose.

"So what what are we gonna do today babe." Matt asked packing up the picnic basket.

"Ooooo lets hang out with Gaby and Hayes!" I said excited.

"Ok let's go." He said grabbing my hand.

We walked all the way to Gaby's house hand-in-hand.

We finally knocked on the door and Gaby (and Matts) mom answered with a worried look on her face.

"Mom what's wrong?" Matt asked his and Gaby's mother.

"I-I don't know where Gaby is.. I-I haven't heard from her for like the whole day and the Griers accross the street are having the same problem with Hayes." Matt's mom blurted.

Matt ran inside really worried as I followed.

Matt and I went up to Gaby's room.

I was so worried about her and I could tell Matt was too.

We found out her electronics and all her valuable stuff were gone.

All her favorite clothes. Gone.

Her laptop. Gone.

Gaby. Gone.

Where was she?

Matt ran downstairs and was talking to their mom about filing a missing child police report.

Gaby's POV

I was half asleep as I was trying to awaken from my nap in the truck.

In the distance, I saw a sign.

As we drive closer it started to unblur.

I could finally read it out.

'Welcome To California!'

I was shocked. Was I really in California?

Did Hayes really drive us all the way here?

Hayes saw me awaken and smiled at me.

"Hayes... Are we actually in Cali or am I dreaming?" I asked in disbelief.

"No princess, your not dreaming."
"We are almost there, promise."
He said.
