Chapter Seventeen: Oh Birthday

It had been a hectic three weeks and school was killing me. I was so mentally drained that I decided to bunk the lessons for the day so I could rest cause yesterday I pulled an all nighter studying for economics which I think I did fairly well if you ask me.

Putting my keys in I was shocked to say the least when the door opened by itself. If someone broke in then they don't know what's coming for them because i recently graduated from self defense class that I take as extracurricular activity which is offered by the university.

Pushing the door slightly open I quietly tiptoed in setting bag down before grabbing the broom that laid on the wall. Moving in further I saw a figure in the kitchen rummaging through the refrigerator

"I'll whoop you so hard you'll regret why you broke in here", I warned in my most wannabe scary voice

"Girl calm down!" Pops stood to his full height with cake smeared on the sides of his face making me sigh

"You could have given me a heads up before I bashed your head", I whined dropping the broom going to give him a hug

"I missed you",I mumbled busking in his embrace

"Missed you too kid now if you excuse me we have a flight to catch and I need to finish this cake", he kissed my forehead and let me go

"Confirm it's just for the weekend?" I asked so I know what to pack

"I mean if you want to extend it I can just talk to the pilots so they can prepare for whenever you want to come back down here", Pops shrugged making me widen my eyes

"For real?!"

He smiled, "You wish"

I felt my heart drop so fast that it took me a moment to digest those two words.

Not saying a word I went to my room only to find Bryce on Reef's ps5. Unable to contain my excitement I ran and jumped onto him hugging him

"Bentley get your heavy ass off me", he wheezed tapping my back

Pulling away from him he shot me a disturbed look, "Ew"

"Oh don't pretend like you didn't miss me", I muttered mushing his head

"I missed your cooking not you though so stay safe", he smirked

I grabbed the console and whacked his peanut bird brain looking head.

"The Queen is back!" I yelled dramatically entering the living room. Zhuri who was on the floor coloring practically flew into my arms, "I knew you'd make it".

I smiled, "Just for you my love"

"Girl you better not fail and blame this on Zhuri's birthday", Ma warned as she came to give me a hug

"So are we going to act like we missed her but in reality we just missed her food?" Bryce stated looking around with his hands in the air

"Don't be like that", Ma muttered making him shrug, "Just saying"

"Where's Bronny?" I asked noticing the awfully annoying presence missing

"His sleeping", Ma answered

I sighed glancing at the clock which read 0317. I had been having a recurring dream of Zhuri's party being ruined and an odd girl showing up. Altogether it left me feeling scared and anxious
