Oh no. We're pulling up. Can I just tell my aunt to drive away and don't come back? I don't think I'm ready for this again. I thought I would be since I've done it so often but... I can feel the shyness creeping up.

"Aunt Nikki, can't I just stay at the house today? I still need to finish unpacking."

"You're going to school today Elizabeth. We can't have you starting a new school with an absence. Besides I know you finished unpacking two days ago."

"If I have to.."  I really don't want to go. I mean, what if I get lost or if I go into the wrong class. Oh God. That is like my worst nightmare. What if I go in the wrong class and they all stare at me?

"Aunt Nikki, I'm scared." Oh God, she's putting the car in park.

"I know you are sweetie but you have to go. Come on, we have to go to the main office and get your schedule."

Did she really have to get out of the car right away? At least she is walking in front of me so I can hide behind her. This school is so big. I'm going to get lost in here I just know it. Woah, who are they? There was a group of people sitting on one of the couches in the hallway. Some of them had the skater look going for them, while some looked like they were trying too hard. Just about all of them had on a band t-shirt. A couple of them are staring at me. Uh-oh. I hid behind aunt Nikki again, scared that they were still looking at me.

"Excuse me," Aunt Nikki, what are you doing?! "Can one of you tell me where the main office is?"

"Sure, I'll bring you there." Who's he? I didn't see him before. "I'm Christian by the way." Why is he looking right at me? Does he expect me to say my name? Uh-oh.

"Hi, Christian, my name is Nikki Rose and this is my niece Elizabeth." Oh thank God for aunt Nikki. How am I going to survive here when she leaves me?

"So the main office isn't too far from here. It's right up the hall." Oh good, he stopped looking at me. Now I can breathe again. Come on  Elizabeth. Just a few more steps and he will leave you be. "Well here we are."

"Thank you Christian. I hope you and Elizabeth become good friends." Really aunt Nikki? Was that necessary?

"Me too," he said, winking at me. Hang on, did he really just wink at me? "See you around Elizabeth." he says walking away.

"Bye." He looked at me in disbelief over his shoulder when I said bye. Was he not expecting me to talk? Probably not seeing as I hadn't spoken at all since he started walking with us.

"Hi, welcome to Masonary High School. I'm Lee Hamilton, the secretary here. How can I help you?" Here we go.
