In a disgusting world in which two rivaling cities fight. But what exactly are they fighting for. The citizens are given orders and do as their told. What were to happen if one citizen were to simply ask. "Why are we doing this?"

Cody would give anything to win Maisie a special prize in the Dark Carnival. Anything.

Andrew has been traveling with the carnival since he was five years old, and has never had another life. His life is anything but stable but he loves it anyway, traveling and meeting new people everywhere he went. But one year, while the carnival had returned to it's birthplace in Dallas Georgia, Andrew meets somebody who is different, strange even. She looks at him as if he were a ghost. He brushes it off, seeing as he's a carnie, and of course nobody likes carnies. Andrew expects this trip to the hometown of the carnival to be as long as any other trip, two-three days tops, but something happens that keeps him there much longer than he planned. Something that he thinks might change his life and keep him there forever.

When Annabel goes for one of her daily walks in the forest she is in for a surprise. Stumbling upon a weird and unusual boy she's introduced into the World of Weird. Carnivals and unique people await her. Flynn a native to the World of Weird enters the realm of the humans. He himself isn't entirely human or normal. Walking through a dense and beautiful forest he stumbles upon a girl. She's strange and very pretty. Following her for miles he accidentally gets caught. Frightening the poor girl she faints and hurts herself. Not having a choice he brings her back to his world. Find out what happens when a normal isn't aloud and weird is embraced. Travel through Annabel's journey of love, acceptance, and craziness. And will they ever find out who's been snatching all the kids from Annabel's world?
