Layla Brass was popular, very popular... Until she got ill. This is a fictional story. But ME/CFS are real conditions and Layla's symptoms are the only part of 'This Isn't Me' that are based on fact. There is also a recording of me reading each chapter of this book, I make the odd mistake but it's easy to understand and saves you from reading/looking at a bright screen. Sakara Dee (:

Hello. It's me. A stranger, another face in the crowd, another voice on the wind. I'm just another girl with a phone, an opinion and a few pairs of shoes. I'd like, if you're willing, for you to just step into my shoes for a while and see how they fit. Take a glance around from my point of view. Walk with me, think with me, listen as I explain how I see this world. Then please, drop your own shoes for me in the comments. I'll try them on, see how they fit. Maybe we'll both walk differently after this.

Confession: I can't remember the last time I wrote anything new. Joining Wattpad was supposed to kickstart my writing libido but it transpires that loading your younger writing and hoping people will like it is a bit like posting a selfie on Facebook because you hate the way you look. Whether you are a hit or not, it doesn't change how you feel about yourself. So, what does one do when faced with nervous writer's block? One writes! I hereby intend (note the lack of binding commitment in this proclamation) to write something, anything, at least once a week. Daily is tempting but let's not run before we can walk. I can see how this introduction is not really selling this book to you so a few reasons why you should join me: 1. It will make you feel better about your own writing in comparison. 2. Pity 3. Any feedback would be welcome. About my writing. My hat choices are mine alone. 4. I could turn out to be the next Big Name and you could say you were there. It could happen...

I wrote down everything I wished I could say, cut out the important bits and stuck them to my bedroom wall. These little bits of diary quotes and poetry are building up, and I felt like I wanted to share them with the world. So, here are the words on my wall.

This is a real life story about, me. The only thing that is fake about this story are the names, that will be kept a secret. I am a normal teenage girl, I have never felt like I have done anything right and haven't found out where I place in this world.
