Two pieces, inspired by Haruki Murakami's Kafka on the Shore, completed for English. I strongly suggest you to read Kafka on the Shore before you read either of these works, because [spoilers ahead]. The missing chapter is my take of what could have transpired between Kafka, Nakata, Kafka's father and/or Johnnie Walker. Oshima's Letter, for Kafka, is written near the ending of the story. Oshima explains what happened at the library when Kafka was gone, but later decides to scrap the letter and just tell Kafka in person.

[Age 20] On an ordinary Thursday, this piece captures a few of the many thoughts that circulate through my brain on a regular basis. As I sit and reflect in the student union building, observations of my surroundings intersect with complex thoughts and philosophical viewpoints. This piece attempts to dissect the systemic problems that the world faces, and the problems that we face as humans. The illusion of control and power that consumes our beings, and is similar to that of livestock. The eternal cycle of pain and joy that is characterized by a wheel that cages us, shackled by our own primal nature. A reflection of mental health. And the explanation and appreciation of being a "sculptor", with the ability to materialize my existence into art, freezing snapshots of them in time. I hope you enjoy the sculptures I create <3

Under the command of The Void, Death planted the seed of Madness within Phineas, forcing him to live through the collective suffering of humanity. This predicament filled his adolescent years with isolation and existential dread, until one day, he met Isabella, an inexplicably enigmatic girl with otherworldly eyes and a star-shaped birthmark underneath her collarbone. Their romance eventually plunged him to a self-exiled journey to the ends of the Earth chasing a mythical fish that can reveal the true nature of reality. A fantastical coming-of-age filled with psychedelic landscapes, philosophical musings, and stream-of-consciousness epiphany, The Vagabond, The Madness, and The Wonderland is a fascinating work that captures existence in all of its chaos and explores what it means to be authentically human.
