Viktor Čapek has never met Jayce Talis in his life. Sure, they have a few classes together, but they've exchanged nothing more than mindless glances. Viktor is too focused on his studies to even think about trying to make new friends. Jayce, though also preoccupied with his studies, already has a group of friends that are near and dear to him. So, when Viktor has a dream concerning Jayce, he chalks it up to being sleep-deprived. Perhaps he's just been staying up too late studying. But then, the dreams continue, becoming more vivid each time. Sometimes, he's having a conversation with Jayce; sometimes, they're working together on strange-looking experiments in a dimly lit lab. It's not long before these dreams begin to feel more like memories. Jayce, meanwhile, finds himself daydreaming about Viktor in the middle of class. That, in itself, wasn't unusual - he had a bad habit of zoning out when he got bored - but every one of these daydreams was centered around Viktor. Often he sees himself hunched over a lab table next to Viktor, working alongside the man in comfortable silence. Other times, he swears he can hear snippets of a conversation held between him and Viktor. Every time, he feels a deep sense of déjà vu, like these events have somehow already happened to him. It's clear that having normal college lives at Piltover University simply isn't in the cards for these two. The universe has no plans to sit back and let them avoid one another - at least, not for long.

As part of a prestigious scientific competition, Viktor, a solitary genius plagued by a terminal illness, is forced to collaborate with Jayce, a brilliant but impulsive engineer, and Maya, a passionate but unpredictable inventor. The winner of the contest wins a colossal sum of money that could save Viktor's life. But the road to victory is fraught with obstacles. Modern AU where Jayce and Viktor are students in the Piltover Academy of Science. (If you had to place it somewhere in the show it would be a few months after Viktor and Jayce proved that Hextech Theory existed while floating in the air) I tried my best to understand the character personality and use them with as much realism as possible. It's far from perfect but I did my best so I hope you'll enjoy reading it!! In this fic, Viktor doesn't have a deadly illness, I know it's not true but I didn't wanna add such a sad plot to my story ! Also I do not plan on writing really detailed mature scenes so if you're looking for a fic like this, mine is sadly not the right choice. I mostly wanted to write a cute story of those two that fitted in my romantic standards. Sorry if it's not perfect, English is not my first language ! Don't restrain to correct my grammar if it's wrong (with kindness of course). Feedback is appreciated !
