There's so many little things, terrifying and closing thoughts away. Maybe this will give you something to do when you're lonely and tired, and need to think a little too much. Give this a chance, and stop holding your breath or the pen between your teeth. Even ink needs an audience willing to insanity and strange ideas.

"Even if you had these memories with that person, either good or bad, it doesn't make any less of it being special or extraordinary. It may be imperfect but it doesn't mean that it's not beautiful and the beauty of it is that time may pass but you can always get to cherish that feeling that you have through good times or bad." - Queen Anne A poetry compilation of poems made with sweet memories :)

Beneath the glow of a fading moon, petals fall like secrets- each one carrying the weight of a memory too heavy to hold. In this collection of poems, love blooms in shadow, grief grows in silence, and hope flickers like candlelight in a storm. Every verse drips with longing, loss and the quiet magic found in the spaces between. A Thousand Dark Petals is a journey through the fragile, haunting beauty of the human heart- where every wound becomes a flower, and every flower, a story.

*And he looked upon these shackles With pain-filled eyes Yet he did not move a finger. As they led me to die. A story is a way to tell the tales of the past. A way to put into words the life of another. It has been the way of people to pass down history through generations, and it rests upon us to carry on this tradition whether in the form of paragraphs or verses.

Ange: The Borrower of Barter Books is a light-hearted tribute inspired by my work colleague, Angela Foggon, who is affectionately known to all of us simply as Ange. Ange and I work together Front of House in the Station Buffet Café at Barter Books in Alnwick. Long before I joined the team, Ange was already a familiar and much-loved presence there, known for her sense of humour, quick wit, and ability to make people smile. Over the years, she has become one of those people who helps make Barter Books the special place that it is. Ange is also famously the smallest member of our crew, which has led to plenty of affectionate teasing and workplace jokes, many of which have found their way into this poem. The poem playfully exaggerates my unfortunate habit of accidentally bumping into her. These incidents, along with references to her Borrower-like stature, are written purely for comedic effect and are intended with warmth, friendship, and admiration. In reality, the poem is not really about Ange's height at all. It is about her character, her humour, and the positive impact she has on the people around her. It also celebrates something I greatly admire about her: her determination to give up smoking following a diagnosis of COPD. It was not an easy journey, but she showed remarkable strength and commitment, and it has been wonderful to see her looking healthier and happier as a result. Above all, this poem was written as a thank you. Thank you for the laughter, the banter, the friendship, and the positivity Ange brings to every shift. While the poem pokes fun at her size, it is really a celebration of the person she is, because those who know Ange know that there is absolutely nothing small about her kindness, resilience, sense of humour, or heart. This poem is dedicated to Angela "Ange" Foggon, a valued colleague, a treasured friend, and one of the people whose warmth and personality help make Barter Books feel like home to so many people.

"Midnight Polaroid" captures a love frozen in time. The kind that feels like you never want to wake up from. Through vivid imagery of neon lights, laughter and moonlit memories, it tells the story of two souls immortalised in snapshots where every photograph holds a heartbeat. It's a song bout love, memories, and quiet magic moments that never fade even as time moves on. a cinematic poem for those who believe love is both art and memory.

These poems aren't perfect. They aren't polished. They're just real - written at midnight, at 2am, and everywhere my mind wandered. A journey through love, unlove, heartbreak, healing, and everything messy in between. If you've ever felt too much or too quietly... you'll find yourself here.

Life was once all rainbows and unicorns until chaos hit, shattering that perfect illusion. This is the story of diving into the darkness, where every shadow held a secret and every storm tested my strength. In the depths of despair and the magnetic pull of the unknown, I found a path to resilience and rediscovery. From Unicorns to Wildflowers: A Tale of Transformation explores the shift from naive idealism to embracing life's raw, unfiltered reality. Through a collection of poems and lyrical pieces, I capture the essence of my journey through the seductive dance of light and dark, where the darkest nights lead to the brightest dawns. Ultimately, it's about finding my way back to a place of sunshine and wildflowers, where true self-awareness and inner peace thrive. Join me on this powerful and haunting journey of transformation, and discover the hidden beauty that lies beyond the chaos. Copyright © 2023 by leeya. All rights reserved. Born to Be Loved is a chapbook of poems that moves through the quiet violence of longing, the confusion of becoming, and the fragile hope of learning what love actually asks of us. Across these pages, love appears in many forms: devotional, distorted, imagined, withheld, and redefined. It becomes a star seen from too far away, a mirror that refuses certainty, a language spoken between ache and attachment. These poems trace what it means to grow up inside emotional intensity-where identity is shaped by who we love, who we lose, and who we try to become in return. At its core, this collection is not only about being loved, but about questioning what it means to deserve love, to mistake it, to resist it, and to finally imagine it without harm or illusion. Born to Be Loved is for anyone who has ever tried to earn tenderness, rebuild themselves from longing, or find clarity in the space between devotion and self-discovery.
