With her own people at last free from the shadows of evil, the young nightborne monk hopes to help her blood elf kin accomplish similar freedom. It is during her quest to help the blood elves and forsaken in the Ghostlands battle the Scourge that Thireu encounters a new and unexpected threat. Seeing a night elf demon hunter prowling the border between the Ghostlands and Eversong Woods, Thireu realizes she must act. Not truly knowing if he is friend or foe, the monk sets out to stop him and unknowingly begins a new path in an uncertain destiny.

High Elven Mages and Druids of the ancient elven lands of Kaelthun came together for one reason - to save elvenkind. Kaelthun was at war with the Human Kingdoms of Teslath with four of its Kings. Several Elven kingdoms were destroyed, forcing several hands to do the unthinkable. Six magic users gathered at the border of the Kingdom of Telessi to conjure from the darkest pit of energy - the Abyss. The six Elves created a fissure in the ground that forced a shadowy veil to erupt straight up into the air.
