After accidentally waking up Vincent, a black bear, and destroying his wagon full of stored food, RJ the raccoon and Fink the fox have one week to return everything back to Vincent's cave before they are killed by Vincent. The two come up with a plan to deceive a group of animals, led by Verne, a box turtle, and Red, a bird, who all live in a forest and just woke up from hibernation. Meanwhile, Verne, Red, and the rest of the animals wake up to a confusing sight. A giant hedge which separated the forest they lived in from a newly built suburb.
