Areti always knew her words were powerful. Like, unnaturally powerful. With a single syllable she could start an argument or finish it; she could turn the closest friends into the bitterest of enemies, or lifetime rivals to lovers with a single breath. For the longest time, she reveled in this power, this influence she had over those around her. But when her world gets flipped upside down, she discovers the terrifying truth behind her abilities and who she is. Suddenly her pride and joy. . . seems more a curse. Not sure if this counts as spoken word poetry or a short story. But how do words affect perception and what can a favorite or least favorite word say about me.

Poems are according to me a way of spreading a message that should be clear and easy to understand even to the youngest population because they must be the ones to be shown the right direction.
