This book provides reliable information on hair pulling, self-help resources to get you started on your healing journey, and includes my own personal story of hair pulling. People who have trichotillomania have an irresistible urge to pull out hair from the scalp eyelashes or eyebrows. Trichotillomania is an impulse control disorder. People with this disorder know they can do damage by acting on impulses. They may pull out their hair when they are stressed as a way to relieve themselves. http://www.webmd.com/anxiety-panic/guide/trichotillomania

(This work is from 2014 and has not been reviewed or revised since then. I will most likely take some time out to edit and continue this eventually, but until then, please make due.) Alice Rootare is confused as to why she's being put into the Churchland Asylum, but doesn't protest. When she gets there, she gets a foul taste of the bad treatment. She doesn't talk much. Not since her legs gave. Can fellow patients help the outside world realize that the crazy ones aren't them?

So, I tried writing a story on this before but I got lost continuing it and it wasn't going where I wanted it to. Instead of writing a half fake story, this time it'll be the real deal. The whole thing. My life. I will give my experience with Trich up to this point and then continue with updates on how I'm doing. I really hate having nearly no hair left on my head so I feel like I need more help. Feel free to share stories and give me tips in the comments. They will be more than appreciated. Thanks :)

I have read many stories about other Wattpad user's writing about their trich. I saw that writing about it helped them. One writer's story stuck out to me and inspired me to write about my own. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is a book dedicated to anyone who has trichotillomania, and this is where you can tell your story. Trichotillomania (Or trich for short) is an ICD that gives people the urge to pull their own hair out. It leaves bald spots and can lead to social issues and teasing. This is where you can talk about it though! Here is how. 1. Tell me your story. You can tell me through the comments, pm, or post a message on my profile. 2. I will copy and paste it onto a new chapter. You can choose to be anonymous or not. Either way is fine. Remember, you are not alone! If you EVER need to talk to someone about trichotillomania, you can talk to me!

A long word, a long struggle. They claim that there is more awareness of my disorder these days in the medical community and also in the public, though I do not see much of it. For instance, at this very moment, Microsoft Word is not recognizing “Trichotillomania” as a word and is suggesting that I change it to..nothing. There isn't even any alternate options. Is it weird that I'm bothered by this. I suffer from something that's affecting every aspect of my life and it’s not even acknowledged as a known term.
