Now that Lacey and Adam are officially together, his injuries are healing, and he's off to play college hockey on a scholarship that he hopes will bring him an NHL draft, what could possibly go wrong? But soon, a dream becomes an obsession, chronic illness becomes unbearable, and a relationship reaches its breaking point. Where will Adam end up? Headed for the Stanley Cup, or on a sure path of self-destruction? Does he ever come up with a Plan B? And, as the September 11th attacks rock his world just after the beginning of his senior year at NYU, will the emotional trauma follow him forever? A continuation of the tale of Adam and Lacey's romance, his rockey career path, and the difficult choices he must make.

High school senior Lacey Primmer appears to have it all--the supermodel blonde hair, big, mischievous brown eyes, the perfect sense of style (even if no one realizes it's secondhand), and the most coveted boyfriend--Driskell High's hockey star, Max Shipley. So she should be perfectly happy, and able to keep the demons from her childhood at bay, right? Her boyfriend's arch rival from Eden Hall Academy is Adam Banks, a quiet, focused guy who blazes a winning trail for the Ducks. Lacey remembers from childhood that he was once kind to her when she needed it. A random set of circumstances causes Lacey and Adam to collide again, and this time, Lacey wants a friendship. But as they grow even closer, can Adam handle her baggage? Will Max leave them alone, even after her dramatic breakup with him on Homecoming Night? And what about the secret Adam himself is carrying around, hiding from his parents, coach and teammates?
