This story is about a 14 year old girl who struggles with trichotillomania. Trichotillomania is a disorder which makes people pluck their own hair. I don't have trichotillomania and I don't know all about it so please give me feedback so I can improve!

I jumped off the counter and smoothed my violet dress with shaking hands. I let my hand twist a tendril of hair around my index finger. I could feel his eyes on me, taking in everything from my blue-grey eyes to my . "Hi," I felt my breath catch in my throat. "I'm Rebekka." "I'm Peter." There was something behind those cobalt eyes, something that drew me in and made my mind go wild. I watched him carefully, watched his pupils dilate slightly and his sharp lips part. I lost all meaning of calm and collected. "What?" I stammered. I could feel myself blushing, and I yearned to stop looking at his captivating face. "What do you like to read?" he repeated. "I mean, you like to read right? That's what my mom always told me anyways,' he rambled. Maybe he was just as nervous as me, but he looked so calm and beautiful and natural. I smiled slightly at the thought. "You're right, I do love to read," I said. "I'll read almost anything as long as it's good." "Why would you read something that's not good. I mean, what's the point. It's a complete waste of time and money." "I know. There are all these people who complain about how sick they are of whatever cra-, whatever awful book they're reading, and I'm just like stop reading it. It's not even worth your time. Seriously." His eyes seemed to smile as I spoke, it was as if I said something he was waiting to hear his entire life.

I have read many stories about other Wattpad user's writing about their trich. I saw that writing about it helped them. One writer's story stuck out to me and inspired me to write about my own. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ev Melrose has had it bad! Primary school wasn't too bad, but when high school hit...the screen in her head blurred and broke. The first year, everyone finding who their friends are and where everyone is on the scales! But the second year was the worst. When everyone knows who is who and what is what, school can be scary. You wouldn't think so with what first year was like. the specially in new classes where there are people who don't really know you. And when you have no eyelashes and someone speaks to you, your head can be a pretty foggy place!

This story is dedicated to the Trichotillomaniacs. We fight every day against our Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, whether it is created by sadness or anxiety. Please learn more about this disorder to help others. I am currently fighting my own stress-induced battle against Trichotillomania. I won't ever stop fighting--I haven't for 4 years and counting. -Sam

talk of trichotillomania "why don't you just stop?" they say it's like my hands have a mind of they're own i pick and i pull because i simply cannot stop as the huge bald spots begin to form my hands will not stop my mind is racing my hands are shaking because my mind has tricked me into thinking i only have a certain amount of time to find the right strand of hair with the right texture or else my life will end. is what it seems like.

HOW IT'S LIKE TO LIVE WITH THIS HORRIBLE DISORDER. (Sorry for the caps XD) Ok, I know there are SO MANY things worse than this, but this ruined my relationship with my mom and brought down my self esteem to a zero.

Eyebrows, eyelashes, hair on the scalp... None of it is safe. Everyone has a way of dealing with their problems. Some just aren't as good as others.
