Tales from the Campfire is a collection of short stories from Anthony Dluzak of obscure monsters from American folklore. The first is The Monster of Elizabeth Lake, from Anthony's nearby hometown of Lancaster, CA. Johnathon and his two best friends are obsessed with stories of ghosts, monsters, killers and violence. It's the one thing that solidifies their friendship, and makes them outcasts to the jocks and bullies of junior high. Jon, his friends, sister and dad take a camping trip to Elizabeth Lake to get away from the smog-filled bustle of Los Angeles. Soon, the teens find themselves around a campfire with leather-clad metal-heads hellbent on having a good time who tell a tale of a monster, the Devil's pet, that lives in the bottomless lake. It sets Jon and the rest on an adventure to unravel the myth in which they find themselves face-to-face with an ancient evil.
