This Fantasy Short Story, written for a Creative Writing class, is inspired by Classical Mythology and takes place in the Greek-inspired land of Gratia in the south of Cletus (the same continent where the unfinished Chronicles of the Fugitive Prince story takes place). An eighteen-year old shepherd is reluctantly pulled into a lethal ordeal: for the past 8 years, his city-state had been forced to choose a champion to fight the most vicious warrior of the land.  During his task, the farmboy will discover that he has powers and heritage that he never thought possible. He must use all of his talents to succeed in his task.  Can he do so?All Rights Reserved
