    This story is based off of the film The Basketball Diaries. Jim Carroll is a young teen who gets Involved with drugs, his best friend for over 10 years, Vivian Brighton, has to save him before he is completely lost into the world of drug addiction.  
    
    Context: The film is based off of the book The Basketball Diaries. It is a true story and Jim Carroll is a real person.
