In the aftermath of the war, Draco Malfoy stumbled across the unconscious Astoria Greengrass. Before Astoria could see him however, he and the Malfoy's were taken into custody, later to be set free.

Realizing she never has the change to give him thanks, she sent him a letter expressing her thanks. They don't talk for years, until she gets a graduation present she never expected.
