Sword Art Online, the game that took virtual reality to a whole new level in, perhaps, the worst ways imaginable. Friends, relatives and siblings of many people alike have fallen pray to this death game disguised as an adventure, all for the sake of one person's vision, Kayaba Akihiko. Through his own project, the line between game and reality is slowly being blurred away, or would have been were it not for a meddling kid, his very own brother.  Inside Aincrad, Kayaba might be invincible, a god even, but even he could not have predicted the influence of those beyond the digital sea. The black swordsman isn't the only one out to get the game master.

The story focuses on Kirito waking up after beating the death game of "Sword Art Online" and learning that Asuna isn't awake, yet. Not being able to handle the guilt, he loses all of the swagger and confidence that he once had in the original game. Kirito learns that Asuna is in a different VR world and with the help of his friends and sister, he must save Asuna from a threat unlike anything that he faced in the original "Sword Art Online." One of those being his passion for strategy and combat. For him, seeing films or reading books of battles that happened long ago made him want to travel back in time. Going as far as sneaking out of his home to learn multiple styles of sword fighting from different Dojos despite it straining his body. However, even after all of this, he was never satisfied. To him, Darwinism played a key role in his life, believing that due to his body, he was unfit to keep alive. Bound to a fragile body, uninterested in the world around him, and lacking motivation for anything else in life due to his belief, he decided to just wait for his time to come.
