Althea Ravenwood Swan was Bella Swan's sister. After Charlie got Renee pregnant, they'd begun to have issues, fighting everyday. Until finally Renee chose to break up their relationship and staying until giving birth and could finally take Bella and run. Charlie took his sadness out by sleeping with a random woman he found at a bar one night after drinking himself away. From that night came Althea, much like Bella, Althea too lived with her mother.

After reaching her tween years, Althea uncovered her mother's secrets and a new part of herself. She'd stopped visiting as much. One unfortunate night, Althea's mother dies. After months of isolation, taking care of the aftermath and not knowing what to do, she decides to move back to Forks, as Charlie had no room for her, the Cullens welcomed her in.
