Four year old Adam R. Young's life has been a living hell given to him by his atheist foster family. They abused, tortured, and beat him. They also planted the idea in his head that God is a bad person and he punishes people. Adam heard about this and continues to get tortured until he finally got the courage to run away and look for a new family. He wanders into a town called Owatonna and finds a young couple with the last name Young. Joan and Randal immediately take Adam in as their own. They teach Adam about Jesus Christ and as time goes on, Adam   begins to wonder if the Man Upstairs meant Adam to be here instead of letting him die.
