We reached the library and got a clue about who kidnapped my brother. The first clue is in six book that is all over the library. We decided to divide and conquer. Austin searched the left side, I did the right, Anna did the middle and everyone else did the corners. While I searched, I thought about Matthew. Sure he may be the killer but he's still my brother. I'll love him to matter what. I eventually found the spot where the book was supposed to be but there was just a piece of paper. I brought it out and went back to the middle. Everyone else appeared with pieces of paper in their hands and frowns on their faces.
"I thought we were looking for books not a map," Tony said.
I glared at him and I said, "It's doesn't matter. All that matters is finding my brother before he's dead."
"Yeah," Randy added. "What does yours say Adam?"
I looked at it and I read it aloud,
"Go"
Everyone looks at me with confused expressions. I told them that what it said. Andy went next, "To", Anna's said "the", Tony's said "house", Austin's said, "where you" and Randy's said "we're born." I thought about it then I said
"Ooh! They all say 'go to the house where you were born'. The person wants us to go to my house."
"And where is your house exactly?" They all asked.
I shrugged my shoulders and my cousin Kate came over.
"It's 548 Chestnut Drive. It's a block from here," she said.
I thanked my cousin then we walked out. Randy was frowning and I knew how much he missed Matt. They do everything together. Their even roommates in collage. I think.
"Hey Randy are you and my brother roommates in collage?" I asked.
"No," he muttered, "I got paired with an annoying dude who won't shut up. But Matt and I see each other every night. We sneak out and-"
"I don't mean to burst your bubble but I don't want every detail," I said.
Randy shoved his hands in his pockets and he whistled as he walked. The rest of the walk was quiet and Anna held my hand. She smiled at me and kissed my cheek. The others chuckled and stared teasing us. My face was bright red and I let go of Anna's hand.
"Aw don't be embarrassed Adam," Anna said. "Would you be embarrassed if I did this?"
We stopped walking and she kissed me. I was surprised and shocked that I had to remind myself to breath. I kissed her back and Anna broke away with a smile on her face and I was still shocked. So was everyone else. Then she continued walking down Chestnut street and I went after her.
"Wait. Do you like me?" I asked.
"Maybe," she replied with a slightly smile on her face.
"Maybe? I need to know. Yes or no? It's a big deal! 'Cause-"
Anna kissed me again and we made out for a good fifteen minutes until I felt someone tap my shoulder. I pulled away from Anna and saw Tony point to the house and he said,
"We're here."
